Hoy les voy a escribir sobre un juego de estrategia, un deporte, un pasatiempo o como lo quieras ver, el hecho es que siempre tendrá una connotación divertida, El Ajedrez.

Por lo que sé, es posible que provenga de un antiguo juego originario de la india llamado “Chaturanga”, lo cual en sánscrito significa "cuatro fuerzas", si vemos la disposición del tablero, podríamos pensar que se deriva de la clasificación de los cuatro ejércitos de la India en esa época, infantería, caballería, elefantes y carros o transportes.
No les hablaré de las reglas, tácticas y estrategias, valores relativos de las piezas, modalidades del juego, entre otras cosas, porque en internet podemos encontrar una vasta bibliografía sobre ello, hoy les hablaré de mi experiencia aprendiendo a jugar.

Cuando tenía 7 años escuché que el ajedrez es un juego para personas inteligentes, cultas y que desarrollaba mucho el intelecto, entonces reuní de mi merienda diaria y me compré un juego de ajedrez, era pequeño, de piezas de plástico y baja calidad, del tamaño de un libro pequeño, se plegaba por la mitad y podías guardar las piezas en el centro, luego debías meterlo en su caja de cartón para que no se abriera y se extraviaran las piezas.
Al no tener nadie que me enseñara, lo primero que hice por mi cuenta fue aprender a mover las piezas, usando el tablero tanto en modalidad ajedrez como en modalidad de dama. Un día, un amigo de mi hermana la vino a visitar, como ella no se encontraba, yo le atendí hasta que ella llegó, le pregunté si sabía jugar damas y me dijo que sí, me fulminó en la primera partida jajajajaja, él era un hombre de edad moderada, quizá unos 35 años, y por lo que pude ver, muchos de ellos invertidos en el ajedrez, la derrota recibida me emocionó mucho, porque supe que estaba ante alguien que podía enseñarme, rápidamente le pedí jugar ajedrez, y la derrota fue peor que la anterior, no tuvo la más mínima contemplación.

A él le llamó la atención que yo, siento apenas un niño de 7 años sintiera tanta pasión por el ajedrez, entonces me comenzó a visitar a mí, no a mi hermana (cosa que a ella no le agradó mucho, jajajajajaja), entonces ocurrió como dice el proverbio zen: Cuando el alumno está preparado, aparece el maestro.
Jugaba ajedrez durante el recreo, jugaba solo en casa, movía las piezas blancas y me cambiaba de lado para jugar con las negras, instalé un juego de ajedrez en la computadora y me divertía como nunca. Hoy día, mi sobrino comenzó a tener interés por el ajedrez, y en esta oportunidad me tocó ser el maestro.
