Las fuentes y pozos de agua era fundamental para el crecimiento de una localidad antiguamente. Las viviendas se construían cerca de las fuentes y por donde iba creciendo el pueblo, se buscaba otra fuente de agua para abastecer a los vecinos.
Fountains and wells were essential for the growth of a town in the past. The houses were built near the fountains and as the town grew, another water source was sought to supply the neighbours.
Con las nuevas canalizaciones de agua a presión dejaron de tener sentido pero se han respetado y mantenido en su lugar de origen. Por seguridad se han tapado, pero quedan por su importancia en la historia del pueblo.
With the new pressurised water pipes, this no longer made sense, but they have been respected and kept in their original place. For safety reasons they have been covered up, but they remain because of their importance in the history of the village.
Este es el pozo de las "Perenholas". Está en la parte más alta de la ciudad.
This is the well of the "Perenholas". It is in the highest part of the town.
A las afuera de la localidad se encontraba otro pozo que también se ha mantenido. Estaba justo a la entrada del pueblo y ahora está en el parque botánico.
On the outskirts of the town there was another well that has also been preserved. It was right at the entrance of the village and is now in the botanical park.
Dentro está creciendo una higuera. Quien sabe si no estaba la higuera ahí desde siempre y ha sobrevivido a las obras del parque.
A fig tree is growing inside. Who knows if the fig tree was not there all along and has survived the works in the park.
Otro pozo que se ha respetado está en la parte más baja de Los Barios y dicen que su origen es romano. Aun tiene agua pero necesita una reforma.
Another well that has been respected is in the lower part of Los Barios and is said to be of Roman origin. It still has water but is in need of renovation.
