On Sunday afternoon I began to dig a hole to plant a plant in the garden of my house since in my garden there are no plants that give us shade; This is a project that I have had for a long time but whenever I start digging I find very large stones and I just cover the hole and leave it that way. The truth is that I have tried many times but it has always been unsuccessful.
Esta vez dije, ahora si no me voy a encontrar ninguna piedra, pero para mi sorpresa salió una roca más grande, y pensé en rodearla para buscar la orilla y lograr sacarla, lo que salió mal porque la piedra es la más grande que he encontrado; fui a buscar una mandarria para ver si podía romperla y no le hice el mínimo de los daños, intente palanquearla con una barra y tampoco lo logre, ni se mueve. Un amigo me dijo préndela en fuego y luego que la veas lo suficientemente quemada le lanzas un balde de agua para que veas como se rompe, tampoco le hizo nada jajajajaja. Ya cansado decidí dejarlo así y al otro día tapar el hueco.
This time I said, now if I am not going to find any stone, but to my surprise a bigger rock came out, and I thought about going around it to look for the shore and get it out, which went wrong because the stone is the largest I have found. ; I went to look for a mandrel to see if I could break it and I did not do the least damage, I tried to pry it with a bar and it did not succeed, nor does it move. A friend told me to set it on fire and after you see it burned enough, you throw a bucket of water on it so you can see how it breaks, it didn't do anything to it hahahahaha. Already tired I decided to leave it like that and the next day to cover the hole.
La mañana siguiente llego a casa una vecina para pedirme que le viera unos exámenes de laboratorio y vio el hueco del jardín y me pregunto qué estaba haciendo y le conté; ella me dijo hijo le voy a regalar una mata que nace encima de las piedras, cuando tienes un terreno así como este donde hay mucho relleno solo debes colocar las plantas adecuadas y veras que si nacen.
The next morning a neighbor came home to ask me to see some laboratory tests and she saw the hole in the garden and she asked me what I was doing and I told her; she told me son I'm going to give her a bush that grows on top of the stones, when you have a land like this where there is a lot of fill, you just have to place the appropriate plants and you will see that if they are born.
Para la tarde se aparece mi vecina con una pequeña planta de trinitarias y me dice siémbrala allí y veras que sus raíces buscan la forma de rodear la piedra y crecerá, esta es una planta que no necesita mucha agua y nace en los terrenos más duros. Y pensé no pierdo nada con intentarlo.
In the afternoon my neighbor appears with a small trinitaria plant and tells me to plant it there and you will see that its roots look for a way to surround the stone and it will grow, this is a plant that does not need much water and is born in the hardest soils. And I thought I don't lose anything by trying.
Ahora bien ustedes dirán porque les cuento esto; me parece que este hecho puede dejar una gran moraleja en la vida ya que muchas veces cuando se nos presenta un obstáculo o un problema solo lo tapamos y salimos huyendo, sin siquiera intentarlo.
Now you will say why I am telling you this; It seems to me that this fact can leave a great moral in life since many times when an obstacle or a problem presents itself to us we just cover it up and run away, without even trying.
Cuando realizamos un nuevo intento y nos tropezamos con la misma piedra o una más grande y decidimos buscar la forma de sacarla muchas veces solo conseguimos lastimarnos y terminar agotados y desanimados; sin saber que la solución más factible es estudiar el terreno y conseguir lo que mejor se adecua a él, es decir debemos ver las probabilidades que tenemos ante una situación y si con nuestros medios somos capaces de alcanzarla. No debemos de buscar en terrenos que no están acorde a nosotros, o como decimos los venezolanos, no debemos nadar en aguas profundas sino sabemos nadar y mucho menos sino tenemos un salvavidas.
When we make a new attempt and we stumble upon the same stone or a larger one and we decide to find a way to remove it, many times we only get hurt and end up exhausted and discouraged; Without knowing that the most feasible solution is to study the terrain and get what is best suited to it, that is, we must see the probabilities that we have in a situation and if with our means we are able to achieve it. We should not search in lands that are not according to us, or as Venezuelans say, we should not swim in deep waters if we do not know how to swim and much less if we do not have a lifeguard.
Estas metáforas muchas veces no las aplicamos en la vida personal sino que nos gusta ser como los sapos y chocar siempre con la pared, y no simplemente tratar de esquivarla si sabemos que nos va hacer daño.
These metaphors many times we do not apply in personal life but we like to be like toads and always hit the wall, and not simply try to avoid it if we know that it will hurt us.
Creo que ya aprendí la lección, haré caso y seguiré el dicho venezolano “el que no agarra consejo no llega a viejo” y sembrare la planta que mi vecina me regalo y la regare esperando que esta sea capaz de vencer este terreno y más adelante con su frondosidad me brinde su sombra. Las cosas siempre no salen como queremos pero debemos aprender que la vida es así; mantener los pies sobre la tierra y adecuarnos a la realidad.
I think I already learned my lesson, I will pay attention and follow the Venezuelan saying "he who does not take advice does not grow old" and I will plant the plant that my neighbor gave me and I will water it hoping that it is able to overcome this terrain and later with its foliage gives me its shadow. Things do not always go the way we want but we must learn that life is like that; keep our feet on the ground and adjust to reality.
