Hola a todos ¿Qué tal estáis? Hoy quiero mostraros todo el proceso de plantación de los tomates en el huerto. Compré en un grupo de intercambio de semillas a una chica maravillosa, 4 variedades de tomates diferentes, y luego el vecino me regaló otra y en la frutería del barrio también me dieron otra variedad para sacarle las semillas. Este año esperamos tener 6 variedades de tomates, estoy deseando que salgan los primeros para poder enseñaros cada uno. Pero ahora vamos con la plantación.
En esta primera foto podéis ver el plantón, yo usé unas cajas de corcho blanco y la dividí en 3 partes, luego rellené con tierra y humus de lombriz y puse unas 20 semillas de tomates en cada una, luego se da un buen riego y se mantiene en un lugar calentito para que germinen.
Como no tenemos aún invernadero, pues lo pusimos en la terraza de la casa de mi padre que esta cerrada y da el sol y tiene una buena temperatura.
Para sacar cada plantón, nos ayudamos con un tenedor para no estropear las raíces.
Aquí vamos haciendo un boquete en el suelo y rellenando con mezcla de tierra y humus de lombriz, en mi caso la tierra esta un poco dura entonces en el sitio justo donde vamos a poner el platón pues le echo un poco de tierra suelta y el humus para darle alimento a la planta.
La distancia entre cada tomatera será de unos 30-40 centímetros.
Ponemos la tomatera y para protegerla del frio por la noche y de los vientos podemos ponerle una botella cortada a modo de "mini invernadero".
Como veis también se van dejando unos pasillos por cada bancal, en cada bancal van dos filas de tomates y luego un pasillo para poder pasar para regar y para cuidar las tomateras conforme vayan creciendo.
Aquí hemos puesto un acolchado de paja ya que esto nos ayuda a mantener la humedad en el suelo y además hace que no crezca las malas hierbas, este año es la primera vez que lo pongo y espero que haya sido una buena idea.
Otra de las cosas que podéis ver es que entre medio de las tomateras hemos plantados lechugas ya que hacen buena asociación entre plantas.
Y hasta aquí hemos llegado con las tomateras, como podéis ver todos los sitios donde hay botellas hay una tomatera, y luego en los otros dos bancales, tenemos calabacines, pimientos, berenjenas, maíz, judías y calabazas plantadas. También os enseñaré como van creciendo todo esto.
El siguiente paso que habrá que hacer con las tomateras será quitarles las botellas y ponerles una cañas. Ya os enseñaré como lo vamos haciendo.
Hello everybody, how are you? Today I want to show you the whole process of planting tomatoes in the garden. I bought in a seed exchange group from a wonderful girl, 4 different varieties of tomatoes, and then the neighbor gave me another one and in the neighborhood greengrocer also gave me another variety to get the seeds. As we don't have a greenhouse yet, we put them on the terrace of my father's house, which is closed and has a good temperature.
To remove each seedling, we helped ourselves with a fork to avoid damaging the roots.
We put the tomato plant and to protect it from the cold at night and from the winds we can put a bottle cut as a "mini greenhouse".
As you can see we are also leaving some aisles for each bed, in each bed there are two rows of tomatoes and then an aisle to be able to pass to water and to take care of the tomato plants as they grow.
Here we have put a straw mulch as this helps us to keep the humidity in the soil and also prevents weeds from growing, this year is the first time I put it and I hope it has been a good idea.
Another thing you can see is that between the tomato plants we have planted lettuce because they make a good association between plants.
And here we are with the tomato plants, as you can see every place where there are bottles there is a tomato plant, and then in the other two beds, we have zucchini, peppers, eggplants, corn, beans and pumpkins planted. I will also show you how all this is growing.
The next step to do with the tomato plants will be to remove the bottles and put a cane on them. I will show you how we are doing it.
