En el año 1844 se crea la Parroquia San Juan Evangelista, realizándose la ampliación del templo y reemplazando sus paredes de bahareque por mampostería para el año 1846. Para los comienzos del siglo XX es nuevamente modificada y se comienza a erigir sus torres, culminándose la torre norte (lado izquierdo) en el año 1911 y la torre sur (lado derecho), 10 años mas tarde en 1921. Declarado monumento Historico Nacional en el año 1960

Entre el 27 de diciembre y 3 de enero de cada año, transcurren las fiestas de San Juan Evangelista (Santo Patrono de la comunidad de Juangriego).

In 1844 the San Juan Evangelista Parish was created, carrying out the expansion of the temple and replacing its bahareque walls with masonry for the year 1846. At the beginning of the 20th century it was modified again and its towers began to be erected, culminating in the tower. north (left side) in 1911 and the south tower (right side), 10 years later in 1921. Declared a National Historic Monument in 1960

Between December 27 and January 3 of each year, the festivities of San Juan Evangelista (Patron Saint of the Juangriego community) take place.
