Una de las cosas que más disfruto en esta vida es salir a caminar y aun más cuando estoy de viaje y voy a lugares nuevos. Recuerdo que cuando me fui un par de meses a Canada a aprender ingles, Salia a caminar todos los días a un parque que estaba enfrente de la casa en la que me había quedado y también cuando iba a visitar y a conocer lugares. No negare que a veces me iba en bus porque quedaban muy lejos y me daba flojera. Cuando viaje a Europa con mis papás, me acuerdo que nos aventábamos kilometros y kilometros al día para llegar a los lugares que habíamos programado para conocer. Obviamente había algunas paradas, cuando nos daba hambre y cuando se nos antojaba una cerveza, si hubiera sido por mi papá, en cada esquina nos parábamos por cerveza, porque ademas la que venden allá es muy rica, la de México también pero es mucho más suave y siempre te la dan en lata o en botella de vidrio. Hoy me desperté feliz y emocionada porque el plan de la mañana era ir a cholula a caminar en búsqueda de murales nuevos (para tomarles fotos para hive) y desayunar memelas o chilaquiles que son platillos mexicanos a base de tortillas y salsa, como la mayoría de los platillos tradicionales mexicanos XD.

One of the things I enjoy the most in this life is going for a walk and even more when I'm traveling and going to new places. I remember that when I went to Canada for a couple of months to learn English, I went for a walk every day to a park that was in front of the house where I had stayed and also when I went to visit and see places. I will not deny that sometimes I went by bus because they were very far away and I was lazy. When I traveled to Europe with my parents, I remember that we would drive miles and miles a day to get to the places we had planned to visit. Obviously there were some stops, when we were hungry and when we wanted a beer, if it had been for my dad, we would stop at every corner for beer, because what's more, the one they sell there is very good, the one from Mexico too but it's much more soft and they always give it to you in a can or a glass bottle. Today I woke up happy and excited because the plan for the morning was to go to Cholula to walk in search of new murals (to take photos of them for hive) and have breakfast memelas or chilaquiles, which are Mexican dishes based on tortillas and salsa, like most traditional Mexican dishes XD.

Había muchísimos murales o graffitis nuevos, parece ser que los cholultecas se pusieron de acuerdo para remodelar las calles de Cholula. Es brutal el talento que tienen, había muchas pinturas hermosas y otras que no fueron mucho de mi agrado y por esa razón no les tome fotos, razón por la que me arrepiento, pero bueno, después puedo regresar a tomar más fotos. No se si se pudieron de acuerdo con la temática de los graffitis, pero la mayoría representaban a México, ya los irán viendo en las fotos y encontraban unas manos indigenas con semillas originarias de México, como el maíz y el trigo, en otra foto observaran a un niobios sentado, con una mascara y tocando una flauta (disfraz típico de México que usan en el estado de Oaxaca una vez al año para hacer distintos tipos de bailes), en otra foto salen varias vacas y una mujer ordeñándolas, si han leído mis post, se habran dado cuenta que en Puebla, hay un pueblo llamado Chipilo, conocido por la producción de leche. También había un mural enorme de una mujer morena con una trenza larga, típica mujer que se encontrarán en México si alguna vez vienen de visita, porque aquí en si la raza es morena, no blanca y antes, ahora ya no tanto, a las mujeres indigenas les encantaba dejarse el cabello muy largo para poderse hacer trenzas.

There were a lot of new murals or graffiti, it seems that the Cholultecas agreed to remodel the streets of Cholula. The talent they have is brutal, there were many beautiful paintings and others that were not much to my liking and for that reason I did not take photos of them, which is why I regret it, but well, later I can go back to take more photos. I don't know if they were able to agree with the theme of the graffiti, but most represented Mexico, you will see them in the photos and find indigenous hands with seeds originating in Mexico, such as corn and wheat, in another photo you will see to a Niobios seated, wearing a mask and playing a flute (a typical Mexican costume that they use in the state of Oaxaca once a year to do different types of dances), in another photo there are several cows and a woman milking them, if you have read my post, you will have realized that in Puebla, there is a town called Chipilo, known for the production of milk. There was also a huge mural of a dark-haired woman with a long braid, a typical woman that you will find in Mexico if you ever come to visit, because here the race is brown, not white and before, now not so much, women Indians loved to leave their hair very long so they could braid it. I will upload this graffiti in another post, because it was not finished yet.

Recuerdo que antes tomaba fotos muy malas, los murales salían chuecos y cortados, hasta el día de hoy puedo decir que ya me fijo más en las lineas de la calle, para que la pared se vea derecha y me alejo más para que salga toda la foto. Decidí no cortarlas, para que conozcan un poco el como son las casas en cholula y se podrán dar cuenta que son muy coloridas, hay casas rosas, naranjas, amarillas, moradas. En otros países me he dado cuenta que las casas no son tan coloridas como aquí, siguen una línea para que se vean elegantes de los mismos colores y el que siempre usan es el blanco. Las casas en las que he vivido siempre son blancas y cuando era niña, recuerdo que mi mamá decidió pintar una de amarillo, después se arrepintió y la volvió a pintar de blanco. Yo no pintaría mi casa de algún color exótico, pero me encanta ver las calles de Cholula con las casas de distintos colores, ¿a ustedes les gusta? ¿o prefieren que todas sean de un mismo color?

In other countries I have realized that the houses are not as colorful as here, they follow a line so that they look elegant in the same colors and the one they always use is white. The houses I've lived in are always white and when I was a child, I remember my mom decided to paint one yellow, then changed her mind and repainted it white. I would not paint my house in some exotic color, but I love seeing the streets of Cholula with houses in different colors, do you like it? Or do you prefer that they all be the same color?

Algo que me gusta mucho de Hive, es que como ustedes pueden conocer México a través de fotos no turísticas, yo también puedo conocer a más profundidad, países a los que no he viajado y es algo fantástico. Recuerdo que una vez un hombre sabio un post de un campo con muchísimos caballos preciosos, el paisaje y la raza de esos caballos que no había visto nunca, fue sorprendente. Eran una raza de caballos que solo existian en Irlanda y me dije a mi misma, próximo país que tienes que visitar es Irlanda e ir a ese lugar. Quiero pensar y espero tener la razón, que algunos de ustedes se han sorprendido con post que he subido de lugares en México a los que generalmente las personas no toman fotos porque es algo común que pase aquí. Como los murales, nosotros los mexicanos estamos muy acostumbrados a verlos porque en cada calle encuentras tres, pero ustedes no.

Something that I really like about Hive is that since you can get to know Mexico through non-tourist photos, I can also get to know more deeply, countries that I have not traveled to and it is something fantastic. I remember that once a wise man wrote a post about a field with many beautiful horses, the landscape and the breed of those horses that he had never seen before, was surprising. They were a breed of horse that only existed in Ireland and I thought to myself, the next country you have to visit is Ireland and go to that place. I want to think, and I hope I'm right, that some of you have been surprised by the post I've uploaded about places in Mexico where people generally don't take photos because it's something common that happens here. Like the murals, we Mexicans are very used to seeing them because you find three on every street, but you don't.

Cuando estamos tan acostumbrados a algo, lo empezamos a ver como un árbol más y le dejamos de dar el valor que tiene. Desde que empece a tomarle fotos a los graffitis que voy encontrando en México y en otros estados, empece a verlos más y a darles un significado diferente. Antes podía pasar en coche por una calle y ni siquiera los volteaba a ver, ahora ya se que murales son nuevos y que otros llevan más tiempo en las calles de cholula. En la Ciudad de Puebla también hay varios, pero como son calles muy transitadas y en muchas no es seguro bajarse a caminar, no les he tomado fotos. Por varios amigos que suben fotos en Instagram, me he podido dar cuenta que en las vegas y en cuba hay muchísimos murales. Desde hace un par de años se me ha antojado ir a visitar Cuba, pero por circunstancias de la vida, no he podido, espero que más adelante se haga realidad ese viaje.

When we are so used to something, we begin to see it as just another tree and we stop giving it the value it has. Since I began to take photos of the graffiti that I find in Mexico and in other states, I began to see more of them and give them a different meaning. Before, I could drive down a street and not even look at them, now I know that murals are new and that others have been on the streets of Cholula for longer. In the City of Puebla there are also several, but since they are very busy streets and in many it is not safe to get off to walk, I have not taken photos of them. Through several friends who upload photos on Instagram, I have been able to realize that in Las Vegas and in Cuba there are many murals. For a couple of years I have felt like going to visit Cuba, but due to life circumstances, I have not been able to, I hope that later that trip will become a reality.

Justo lo escribí arriba, pensaba que mis fotos habían mejorado, pero me acabo de encontrar con este que esta cortada, le quite media cabeza a la pobre vaca. Cuando veo estas fotos me enojo mucho conmigo misma, porque muchas veces ya no puedo regresar a los lugares y sacar una mejor. Eso me pasa por tomarlas con prisa y no checarlas después, porque si se pueden dar cuenta, me tuve que parar a mitad de la calle para que saliera más grande la foto.

I just wrote it above, I thought my photos had improved, but I just found this one that is cut off, I took half a head off the poor cow. When I see these photos I get very angry with myself, because many times I can't go back to the places and take a better one. That happens to me for taking them in a hurry and not checking them later, because if they can tell, I had to stop in the middle of the street so that the photo would come out bigger.

Esta es la otra parte del mismo graffiti de arriba, solo que aquí si sale la vaca completa. Algo muy lindo que tenemos en la Ciudad de Puebla y se puede apreciar mejor desde Cholula, es un volean llamado POPOCATEPETL y una montaña que esta a su lado llamada MALINCHE o IZTAZIHUATL. Son más lindos aun cuando hace frio y tienen nieve, a la Malinche si tienes permitido subir, pero al Popo no porque es volcanologías y generalmente esta lanzando ceniza, cuando ven que no hay ningún riesgo, te dejan subirlo, pero es muy raro que te lo permitan. las personas que viven a los alrededores del popo, son de clase social muy baja, por lo que no se han podido ir de ahí y siempre están corriendo el riesgo de que la lava llegue a sus casas, ademas de que todo el santo día están respirando cenizas y eso es muy grave para su salud.

This is the other part of the same graffiti above, only here the whole cow appears. Something very nice that we have in the City of Puebla and can be better appreciated from Cholula, is a volean called POPOCATEPETL and a mountain that is next to it called MALINCHE or IZTAZIHUATL. They are prettier even when it is cold and they have snow, Malinche if you are allowed to climb it, but not Popo because it is volcanology and generally it is throwing ash, when they see that there is no risk, they let you climb it, but it is very rare that you allow it. the people who live around the popo, are of a very low social class, so they have not been able to leave there and are always running the risk of the lava reaching their homes, in addition to the fact that they are breathing ashes and that is very serious for your health.

Este mural me encanto, ¿alguna vez vieron la película de "El Viaje de Chihiro"? si la vieron, díganme si este sapo y la mascara no se parecen a los que salen en la película o quizás no solo es conjetura mía y los pintores se basaron en el viaje de Chihiro para hacer este graffiti. Esta película la vi cuando era niña y fue de esas pocas películas que te dejan muchos recuerdos, ya que hubo escenas impactantes como la de las cosas negras que parecen pelusas y llevan carbon al fuego o la hermana mala que se convierte en ave y vuela por las noches. Si la vieron cuéntenme si que les pareció y que escena les gusto más.

I loved this mural, have you ever seen the movie "Spirited Away"? if you saw it, tell me if this toad and the mask don't look like the ones that appear in the movie or maybe it's not just my guess and the painters were based on Chihiro's trip to make this graffiti. I saw this movie when I was a child and it was one of those few movies that leaves you with many memories, since there were shocking scenes like the one with the black things that look like fluff and carry coal to the fire or the bad sister that turns into a bird and flies around the nights. If you saw it, tell me what you thought and which scene you liked the most.

Miren que mala foto, cortada y muy chueca, les prometo que la próxima vez saldran mejores, por lo menos no cortadas y este mural me había encantado, lo importante era que salieran estos dos animales llamados Koalas, pero se hubiera visto más bonita completa, que viendo bien la banqueta, no quedo tan chueca, solo un poco de los lados y ese día el sol no estaba ayudando mucho para ver como salían las fotos. De echo a muchos graffitis no les pude tomar foto porque el sol no me dejaba.

Look what a bad photo, cropped and very crooked, I promise you that next time they will come out better, at least not cropped and I had loved this mural, the important thing was that these two animals called Koalas came out, but it would have been more beautiful complete, that seeing well the sidewalk, it was not so crooked, only a little on the sides and that day the sun was not helping much to see how the photos came out. In fact, I couldn't take a picture of many graffiti because the sun wouldn't let me.

Esta foto si quedo bien, también esta cortada, pero aquí era inebitable no hacerlo porque estaba muy grande la pintura. Aquí en México es muy común que las familias tengan aves, como las Agapornis, los Canarios, Periquitos y Loros. Desde que era pequeña quería tener un Loro, pero mi papá nunca me dejo y siempre me decía que "las aves no era animales para tener encerradas como los perros o los hámsteres y que era una crueldad tenerlas en jaulas". Hoy en día se lo agradezco, porque la realidad es que es una injusticia tener un animal que vuela encerrado, es como si a nosotros nos dejaran toda nuestra vida encerrados en nuestro cuarto. también muchas personas tienen animales en sus casas que son ilegales, como Guacamayas y tucanes, creo que dentro de las aves ilegales también entran los loros y son los que más tienen las personas. Esta se los comento, porque como pueden ver en el mural, hay un loro pintado como animal importante que representa México, al igual que la planta "Maguey" que se encuentra del lado izquierdo.

Here in Mexico it is very common for families to have birds, such as lovebirds, canaries, parakeets and parrots. Since I was little I wanted to have a Parrot, but my dad never let me and always told me that "birds were not animals to keep locked up like dogs or hamsters and that it was cruel to keep them in cages". Today I thank him, because the reality is that it is an injustice to have an animal that flies locked up, it is as if we were left locked up in our room all our lives. also many people have animals in their homes that are illegal, such as macaws and toucans, I think that parrots also fall within the illegal birds and they are the ones that people have the most. I am mentioning this one, because as you can see in the mural, there is a parrot painted as an important animal that represents Mexico, as well as the "Maguey" plant that is on the left side.

¿Si o no que este grafitti parece una pintura? ya vieron todos los detalles, a mí me encanto. el hombre vestido con plumas pintado en medio del mural, parece que lo sacaron del calendario maya, quizás este relacionado, por que a su alrededor esta pintada la luna llena, nueva, creciente, menguante, cuarto creciente y cuarto manguante.

Este mural es uno de los más grandes de San Andrés Cholula, ocupa el espacio de media cuadra de la calle. Ya esta un poco descolorido porque lo hicieron hace algunos meses o quizás ya cumplió un año y a las personas lo les importa mucho cuidarlos, a veces se recargan en la pared subiendo el pie. No es justificación, pero los cholultecas ya están muy acostumbrados a que haya grafittis en muchas calles, si no es que la mayoría y a que los estén cambiando constantemente.

This mural is one of the largest in San Andrés Cholula, occupying the space of half a block of the street. It's already a bit discolored because they did it a few months ago or maybe it's already been a year old and people care a lot about taking care of them, sometimes they lean against the wall by putting their foot up. It is not justification, but the people of Cholulteca are already very used to the fact that there are graffiti on many streets, if not most of them, and that they are constantly changing them.

Como se pueden dar cuenta, muchos de los murales a los que les tome fotos, están pintados en casas. Los artistas no preguntan en el ayuntamiento si pueden pintarlos, si no que hablan con los dueños de las casas y les piden permiso, claro que muchos dicen que si, no se si porque realmente les guste tener un mural pintado en su casa o porque la mayoría de las personas son de escasos recursos y muchas veces no les alcanza para comprar pintura para pintar su casa y que mejor que les pinten un hermoso mural representativo de su país.

As you can see, many of the murals I took photos of are painted in houses. The artists don't ask the town hall if they can paint them, but rather they talk to the owners of the houses and ask for their permission, of course many say yes, I don't know if it's because they really like having a painted mural in their house or because the Most of the people are of scarce resources and many times it is not enough to buy paint to paint their house and what better way to paint them a beautiful representative mural of their country.

¿Conocen los "Alebrijes"? para los que no los conozcan, los Alebrijes son una artesanía mexicana, echa de madera, papel o cartón y representa a un animal con diferentes partes de otros animales. Los colores que usan para pintarlos, son colores alegres y no solo llevan un color, si no muchas para poderle ir haciendo distintas formas, como flores, lineas, triángulos, etc. Estos dos animales que salen en el graffiti, podríamos decir que representan a dos Alebrijes, aunque la lagartija y el perro que esta a su lado derecho no tienen partes de otros animales, pero si están pintados, como pintan a los Alebrijes.

Do you know the "Alebrijes"? For those who do not know them, Alebrijes are a Mexican craft, made of wood, paper or cardboard and represent an animal with different parts of other animals. The colors they use to paint them are cheerful colors and they not only have one color, but many to be able to make different shapes, such as flowers, lines, triangles, etc. These two animals that appear in the graffiti, we could say that they represent two Alebrijes, although the lizard and the dog that is on its right side do not have parts of other animals, but they are painted, as they paint the Alebrijes.

Por último, le tome fotografía a este dragón que estaba escondido en una esquina, para poderlo encontrar, debías entrar a un "terreno valdio", no se si así se llamen en su país, pero aquí en México, un terreno valdio es aquel lugar en donde no hay ninguna construcción y esta abandonado. Seguramente tiene dueño, pero las personas no están acostumbradas a cerrarlo, solamente a ponerle algún letrero de -este terreno tiene dueño-, para que no se haga ninguna estafa con el.

Finally, I took a picture of this dragon that was hidden in a corner, in order to find it, you had to enter a "land of waste", I don't know if that's what they are called in your country, but here in Mexico, a land of waste is that place where there is no construction and is abandoned. Surely it has an owner, but people are not used to closing it, only to putting a sign on it saying "this land has an owner", so that no scam is done with it.

Después de la larga caminata en búsqueda de murales/graffitis, encontramos un pequeño restaurante en donde venían chilaquiles, quesadillas y memelas. Decidimos probarlo y realmente estaba delicioso todo, mi amigo pidió unos chilaquiles verdes (que son los que salen en la foto) y yo pedí una quesadilla de champiñones y le eche la misma salsa verde que traía el platillo que pidió mi amigo. En cuanto a la perrita que sale abajo, quise que saliera en este post, porque nos estuvo siguiendo algunas cuadras, estuve a punto de llevármela, pero se veía bien alimentada y no maltratada, así que supuse que tenía casa y decidimos perderla de vista.

After the long walk in search of murals/graffiti, we found a small restaurant where chilaquiles, quesadillas and memelas used to come. We decided to try it and everything was really delicious, my friend ordered some green chilaquiles (which are the ones that appear in the photo) and I ordered a mushroom quesadilla and I poured the same green sauce that the dish my friend ordered brought. As for the dog that comes downstairs, I wanted it to appear in this post, because it was following us for a few blocks, I was about to take her, but she looked well fed and not mistreated, so I assumed she had a home and we decided to lose sight of her.
