I think it's unrelated. Threads (from Meta) only competes with d.buzz, which (unfortunately) doesn't have a huge user base.

Yeah, wish this platform had more users. Seems a lot flock to Mastadon, but it's less stable, less efficient and feels a lot less social than here - not to mention it has no incentives! I feel this place is far too ahead of it's time.
