As we all know that HIVEFork 28 has been sucessfully implemented, bringing several changes focused on improving curation transparency, reward consistency, and overall network stability. In todays post, I am specifically going to talk about more curation reward changes and Voting System Changes that should be more important for users. So what has changed here::What changed?
Before HF28:
If you kept giving 100% upvotes one after another, then your vote value would start reducing i.e. there is vote decay. Many users had no idea why their vote suddenly became weak.
After HF28:
There is no vote value decay. This mean your 100% vote always gives full value, as long as you have the voting mana. Mana usage is clearer:
100% vote ≈ uses 2% mana
50% vote ≈ uses 1% mana
10% vote ≈ uses 0.2% mana
Let us know understand it with an example so that it is more clear as to what has changed.
Before HF28
Imagine you have 5000 HP.
1st vote (100%) → ₹X reward value
2nd vote (100%) → ₹y reward value
3rd vote (100%) → suddenly becomes ₹0.7X
4th vote (100%) → ₹0.5X
Hence one used to get confused why our vote got weaker even if we had casted a 100% vote value. Comes HF28
After HF28
1st vote → FULL value
2nd vote → FULL value
10th vote → STILL full value
You will notice that nly mana reduces and automatically recovers close to 20% per day. There is no change in the VOTE value. The simple rule now is - If you have mana, your vote is full-power. No confusion at all now. Lets now deep dive into How My 242K HP Now Earns More Through Curation. For calcuation purpose I took these numbers as base from hivestats.io for my account. My actual 7-Day Curation Before HF28
425.53 HP - Author
431.43 HP - Curation
Total ≈ 856.96 HP over 7 days
Considering 431 HP curation rewards for a total 7 day curation before HF28.
Before HF28 → my votes were effectively worth 87%
After HF28 → the votes are now 100%
Percent improvement: 100 − 87 / 87 = 14.94 %
This is purely due to removal of vote-decay, assuming the real voting pattern of 10 full votes per day. Based on these numbers plotting my curation rewards before and after HF28
7 Day Curation Before vs After HF28

So altogether there is a Net gain = +64.32 HP per week, or +3,338 HP per year, without changing anything. Overall, this is good news for everyone on the HIVE Blockchain as we now benefit from fairer, more predictable, and consistently stronger curation rewards after HF28. I believe the fork does not affect curation this way. True, your upvotes are relatively stronger, but they cost you more Voting Mana.
You can then manipulate your curation rewards by giving away 50 upvotes in a single minute, each of them worth 2% of your total voting power, but then, you'll need to recharge. You will then earn 5 days worth of curation in a single day, but your further curation will be limited.
I guess people who don't curate much can make some extra rewards, but we who have been using our HP extensively will have no difference in the total reward.

I guess you simply used more voting mana a day that you can recharge per that day.

Cool news. Don't have energy to check the calculations, lol, but, yeah, since votes have equal value each time after the hardfork, both curation and average author rewards have become larger. 😎
Based on the HF28 information I could read..this is the math done and I could see curation giving more rewards but lets see how things turn out in near future. cheers
this is great news as I am not always on the platform but once in, I try to be active and not just publish but also read and promote whatever I feel is great information. This will mos definitely improve engagement.

STOPThis is good news for everyone. Curators are going to want to curate more and that means content creators will also see that benefit. I was waiting on someone to make a post like this as the mechanics lead me to believe a rewards increase for curators was incoming. While others didn't think it would change much in-regards to curation rewards. Good to see some numbers that shows the outcome.

Mana usage is more complex. Newcomers can't ignore the vote weight, or they will get confused why vote fails.
The few genuine newcomers to Hive will be frustrated by not being able to vote more.
