They seem to be fairly equal in activity with Hive getting a bit more engagement with posts. I do not even really look at Steem these days. It may be more interesting if you are Chinese are Korean.
Have you looked at Blurt activity? I have tried posting there, but there is not much going on.
I noticed a fairly new Hive whale is powering down, but I know a lot of people are still growing their accounts. We just need some hopeful signs to keep spirits up.
