The less is stored on the exchanges is the better. By the way, storing any cryptocurrency on the exchanges in general is not a good idea (not safe) anyway. Just think about all the hacks. Recently the hackers stole $97 million USD worth of cryptocurrency from the Liquid Exchange.

Hive needs more trading liquidity from non hive community and people who actively trade Hive will keep hive on exchanges. It's good for Hive
Of course, it's not safe to store cryptocurrency in centralized exchanges unless you're trading more frequently
