Hace unos días fue mi cumpleaños y en esta ocasión me fui a celebrarlo a la playa junto a dos amigas mías (más adelante les comparto que tal estuvo mi viaje), mientras hacía la maleta algo que me asegure de empacar fue mi libreta de dibujos y unos óleos pastel que recién me compré muy económicos y que quería probar a ver qué tal la calidad.
Bueno, es costumbre para mí llevar a dónde voy papel y lápiz por si acaso un atacazo de artístico, una idea loca o simplemente anotar algo.

A few days ago was my birthday and this time I went to celebrate it at the beach with two friends of mine (later I will share with you how was my trip), while I was packing my suitcase something I made sure to pack was my sketchbook and some oil pastels that I just bought very cheap and I wanted to try to see what the quality was like.
Well, it is customary for me to carry paper and pencil wherever I go, just in case I have an artistic attack, a crazy idea or just write something down.
Aunque en mucha de las ocasiones no termino usando los materiales para dibujar, está vez, tomé el tiempo para sentarme sobre un pedazo de tronco de cocotero, sacar mi libreta, mis óleos y contemplar la playa para plasmarla en esa hoja en blanco.
Although most of the time I don't end up using the materials to draw, this time, I took the time to sit on a piece of coconut tree trunk, take out my notebook, my oils and contemplate the beach to capture it on that blank sheet of paper.
Así comenzó este dibujo, con la ayuda principalmente del color amarillo para el boceto. Frente a mi tenía la vista de las sombrillas con sillas que alquilan a la orilla de la playa,, así que eso era lo que intentaría reproducir.
So began this drawing, with the help of mainly the color yellow for the sketch. In front of me I had the view of the umbrellas with chairs that they rent at the beach, so that was what I would try to reproduce.
El azul me estaba invadiendo todo el dibujo, pues tanto el mar como el cielo brillaban con ese color.
The blue was invading the whole drawing, as both the sea and the sky were shining with that color.
Una vez aplique otros colores como el verde y más amarillo tomó mejor forma todo, además con este tipo de técnica es importante usar el blanco que, más allá de pintar propiamente de blanco te ayuda es a mezclar los colores de una manera más uniforme.
Para finalizar use el negro, este me ayudó a delinear las formas en todo el dibujo y separar todos los tonos azules.

Once I applied other colors such as green and more yellow, everything took better shape, also with this type of technique it is important to use white which, beyond painting white itself, helps you to mix the colors in a more uniform way.
To finish I used black, this helped me to outline the shapes throughout the drawing and separate all the blue tones.
Y bueno, este es el resultado final de mi dibujo en la playa viendo la playa. Estos óleos pastel que me costaron solo 1.5 USD pasaron la prueba, son lo suficientemente cremosos y se mezclan muy bien, así que están recomendados.

And well, this is the final result of my drawing on the beach looking at the beach. These oil pastels that cost me only 1.5 USD passed the test, they are creamy enough and blend very well, so they are recommended.

I'm a little jealous of that environment. I love winter, but lately I'm really craving some simple days in the warmth and being able to pull my sketchbook out. If I did that now, I'd have frozen fingers. :^)

Yes! The Christmas decorations are all out now, people skating and enjoying the evenings. I'll have to get some gloves, but it'll be nice to be able to sketch those things. Quick figures and capturing the atmosphere.
I haven't been drawing as much lately too, yet I feel the itch to daily.
