En mi casa llegó la navidad y no podía esperar para presentarle el arbolito a mi gato Roberto, aunque no se mostró muy animado aproveché para hacerle su sesión de fotos.
Christmas arrived at my house and I couldn't wait to present the tree to my cat Roberto, although he wasn't very animated I took the opportunity to do his photo session.
De todas las fotografías que le tome está fue mi favorita y por eso decidí dibujarla.

El boceto fue sencillo de dibujar, solo formas geométricas básicas para guiarme al momento de usar la técnica que le daría forma a mi gato.
The sketch was simple to draw, just basic geometric shapes to guide me in using the technique that would shape my cat.
El óleo pastel parece visualmente creyones de cera, sin embargo son mucho más cremosos, lo que permite que los colores se mezclen muy bien entre ellos. La verdad es que es una técnica muy rica para colorear.
Oil pastels visually look like wax crayons, however they are much creamier, which allows the colors to blend very well with each other. The truth is that it is a very rich technique for coloring.
Lo primero fue ir dando forma al pelaje con el color ocre mezclado con blanco. El salmón lo aplique en la nariz y allí, nuevamente el blanco me permitió ir difuminando todo. En este punto trate de fijarme bien de la fotografía para ver la dirección que tenía el pelaje y más o menos imitarlo con los óleos.
The first thing was to give shape to the coat with the ocher color mixed with white. I applied the salmon on the nose and there, again the white allowed me to blur everything. At this point I tried to look closely at the photograph to see the direction of the fur and more or less imitate it with the oils.
Una vez estuvo lista la base de color, comencé a aplicar un poco de azul oscuro para generar las sombras, con esta técnica es importante no saturar de material la superficie porque llega a un punto en el que se comienza a restar el color en lugar de sumar.
Once the base color was ready, I began to apply a little dark blue to generate the shadows, with this technique it is important not to saturate the surface with material because it reaches a point where it begins to subtract the color instead of adding.
Aunque mi gato no tiene ningún gorrito navideño, decidí dibujarlo para que deje de verse tan Grinch.
Although my cat doesn't have a Christmas hat, I decided to draw him so he wouldn't look so Grinchy.
En el arbolito si no me enfoque en los detalles, aquí solo hice trazos de colores para las bambalinas y luego con un verde claro y uno más oscuro líneas que simulan la forma del árbol. Y bueno, siguiendo con la idea de imaginar cosas que no están en la foto, dibuje las luces navideñas que aún no le he comprado al arbolito 😅.
In the tree I didn't focus on the details, here I only made colored strokes for the backdrops and then with a light green and a darker one, lines that simulate the shape of the tree. And well, following the idea of imagining things that are not in the photo, I drew the Christmas lights that I have not yet bought for the tree 😅.
Finalicé con el óleo pastel negro en los ojos y en uno que otro lado para terminar de definir y acentuar algunas zonas.
I finished with black oil pastel on the eyes and on one or the other side to finish defining and accentuating some areas.
Y bien , este fue el resultado de mi Michu navideño en la técnica de óleo pastel. Un dibujo rápido y que disfrute mucho hacer, además es el primer retrato de mi gato (que me queda decente) que me animo a compartir. La verdad es que he quedado muy satisfecha con este dibujo y espero que les guste a ustedes también.
