Saludos amigos del arte de la pintura, les comparto mi primera obra artística imaginaria de este incipiente octubre, se trata de una ilustración con tinte expresionista. Esta obra tiene por título, sencillamente, "Sirena". Les comentaré paso a paso, como fui creando un paisaje partiendo desde cero. Antes debo resaltar, que esta creación ha sido bastante espontánea; aproximadamente, invertí tres horas de esta mañana, para culminar todo el trabajo. Todo fue fluyendo exquisitamente bien. El resultado me ha encantado. No obstante, también he disfrutado bastante la faena creativa. Reflexionando un poco, insisto, en que puedo ver en mis obras más recientes, que estoy plasmando con bastante fidelidad lo que veo en mi mente. Eso me agrada porque eso es algo que no estaba logrando muy bien. La práctica constante, en este ecosistema Hiveblog, está dando resultados satisfactorios. Greetings friends of the art of painting, I share with you my first imaginary artistic work of this incipient October, it is an illustration with an expressionist tinge. This work is titled, simply, "Mermaid." I will tell you step by step how I created a landscape from scratch. First I must highlight that this creation has been quite spontaneous; I spent approximately three hours this morning to complete all the work. Everything was flowing exquisitely well. I'm charmed with the result. However, I have also quite enjoyed the creative work. Reflecting a little, I insist that I can see in my most recent works that I am expressing quite faithfully what I see in my mind. I like that because that's something I wasn't doing very well. Constant practice, in this Hiveblog ecosystem, is giving satisfactory results. That's why I thank everyone who has supported my work so far. If you like what comes next, please buy it.

iniciaré mencionando que el soporte que he elegido para pintar la obra en cuestión, es un material de vinilo. Como pueden notar en esta imagen, el soporte estaba más o menos curado, es decir, cubierto, listo para iniciar la faena creativa. No obstante, faltaba más consistencia para poder cubrir totalmente la superficie, y lograr la película deseada. Entonces, el plan radicó en lograr esa consistencia con distintas capas de pintura que se fueron aplicando todas, con una intención diferente. Por el contrario, la idea no era cubrir de una sola vez. Sino, ir logrando distintos efectos y objetivos con cada nueva capa.
I will start by mentioning that the support I have chosen to paint the work in question is a vinyl material. As you can see in this image, the support was more or less cured, that is, covered, ready to start the creative work. However, more consistency was needed to completely cover the surface and achieve the desired film. So, the plan was to achieve that consistency with different layers of paint that were all applied, with a different intention. On the contrary, the idea was not to cover it all at once. Otherwise, achieve different effects and objectives with each new layer.
En función de lograr la consistencia planteada, y en vista de que sabía que pintaría un atardecer marino, decidí implementar una capa amarilla, ciertamente uniforme, pero aún con cierto grado de transparencia porque, recuérdese, que la idea no es cubrir con un solo intento. Y más bien, la idea radica en ir incorporando esos "detalles de fondo", a la obra planteada como un resultado final. Sabía, que la plasticidad que ofrecen las manchas, los puntos, las líneas darían gran riqueza al trabajo. Por eso no lo iba a tapar todo de una vez. Rescataría los destellos de tonos cálidos para crear belleza y armonía en la obra.
In order to achieve the proposed consistency, and since I knew I would paint a marine sunset, I decided to implement a yellow layer, certainly uniform, but still with a certain degree of transparency because, remember, that the idea is not to cover with a single attempt. And rather, the idea lies in incorporating those "background details" into the work presented as a final result. I knew that the plasticity offered by stains, dots, and lines would give great richness to the work. That's why I wasn't going to cover it all at once. I would rescue the flashes of warm tones to create beauty and harmony in the work.
Y, como en definitiva, la idea es cubrir, del amarillo pasé al rojo. Literalmente, tracé de arriba a abajo, una aguada de rojo, utilizando un pincel de abanico para ir dejando marcas de líneas onduladas, casi horizontales, que servirían para destacar rasgos particulares del diseño: formas de nubes estiradas, líneas estiradas de agua. A medida que descendencia con el rojo trataba de que perdiera intensidad. Es por eso, que la parte inferior del soporte siempre conservó un aspecto más claro; que serviría para crear la playa o la arena del mar.
And, since ultimately the idea is to cover, from yellow I went to red. Literally, I traced from top to bottom, a wash of red, using a fan brush to leave marks of wavy, almost horizontal lines, which would serve to highlight particular features of the design: stretched cloud shapes, stretched lines of water. As I descended with the red I tried to make it lose intensity. That is why the bottom part of the support always retained a lighter appearance; that would serve to create the beach or the sand of the sea.
Lo que no mencioné en el apartado anterior, es que superponer rojo sobre amarillo, resulta en la apariencia de un tono anaranjado, lo que es y era perfecto para los fines. En sí, ya debía establecer el orden, dar forma a la cuestión. Es por eso que situé una línea horizontal, para diferenciar el cielo del mar. Y a nivel del color comencé a sugerir los tonos y matices que les correspondería. En este aspecto, era importante dejar un contraste bien marcado entre el cielo y el mar, en visita de que eso crea un atractivo visual bien interesante.
What I did not mention in the previous section is that superimposing red on yellow results in the appearance of an orange tone, which is and was perfect for the purposes. In itself, it had to establish order, give shape to the issue. That is why I placed a horizontal line, to differentiate the sky from the sea. And at the color level I began to suggest the tones and nuances that would correspond to them. In this aspect, it was important to leave a well-marked contrast between the sky and the sea, since this creates a very interesting visual appeal.
Aquí, continué superponiendo los tonos. En este caso, sobre el rojo, en la parte del mar, coloqué azul intenso, empleando una técnica similar: líneas horizontes, honduladas en cierto grado, tratando de dejar espacios para no tapar del todo los tonos de fondo. Es importante dejar secar bien los tonos de fondo, si deseas que no se mezclen del todo. Para la parte del cielo utilicé una degradación escueta para los tonos cálidos.
Here, I continued to layer the tones. In this case, over the red, in the sea part, I placed intense blue, using a similar technique: horizon lines, deepened to a certain degree, trying to leave spaces so as not to completely cover the background tones. It is important to let the background tones dry well, if you want them not to mix completely. For the sky part I used a simple gradient for the warm tones.
A continuación, estiré el azúl fusionando con blanco, fui creando el efecto de unas incipientes olas escuetas, que posteriormente, detallaría, con un pincel que me ofreciera mayor precisión de detalles.
Next, I stretched the blue fusing with white, creating the effect of some incipient concise waves, which I would later detail, with a brush that offered me greater precision of details.
Continúe creando el criterio, con los tonos azules también creé algunos efectos de nubes en el cielo, y con fucsia, rojo y marrón insinué un aspecto para la parte de la arena. Siempre empleando degradaciones y adicionalmente creando contrastes ente los tonos.
Continue creating the criteria, with the blue tones I also created some cloud effects in the sky, and with fuchsia, red and brown I hinted at a look for the sand part. Always using gradients and additionally creating contrasts between tones.
En este apartado, detallé aún más los planos que había logrado, sobre todo incluyendo rasgos de líneas delgadas de los distintos tonos utilizados anteriormente. Adicionalmente, cree formas de rocas en la arena, para que posteriormente, crear el efecto de que lucieran bajo el agua. La idea era dejar todos los planos de fondo listos, para comenzar con el modelo en primer plano, la sirena.
In this section, I further detailed the plans I had achieved, especially including thin line features of the different tones used previously. Additionally, create rock shapes in the sand, so that later, create the effect that they look underwater. The idea was to leave all the background planes ready, to start with the model in the foreground, the mermaid.
Durante esta etapa de la obra artística, comencé a bocetear una sirena a mano alzada, empleando líneas blancas para los contornos. La idea de usar el blanco, es que si te equivocas puedes cubrir con mayor facilidad o naturalidad.
During this stage of the artistic work, I began to sketch a mermaid freehand, using white lines for the outlines. The idea of using white is that if you make a mistake you can cover it more easily or naturally.
Aquí comencé a dar más forma a la sirena, sobre la piedra, en la orilla marina. Ya no se trataba solo de dibujo, comenzaba a perseguir las luces, las sombras y los volúmenes.
Here I began to give more shape to the mermaid, on the stone, on the seashore. It was no longer just about drawing, I began to pursue lights, shadows and volumes.
En este punto dibujaba el rostro, detallaba cuidadosamente, definía los tonos de piel y el cabello del modelo.
At this point I drew the face, carefully detailed, defined the skin tones and hair of the model.
Desde aquí en adelante, ya se puede apreciar la obra terminada, desde distintos ángulos. El detalle que sostiene la sirena en su mano, le da mayor dramatismo a la pintura, y a mí me hace pensar un poco.
From here on, you can see the finished work from different angles. The detail that the mermaid holds in her hand gives greater drama to the painting, and makes me think a little.
