My husband and I got up this morning at 6:00 am to leave by 7:00 am (we left at 7:10 am) to drive back home. We left the Dallas area with rain and gray skies. We arrived in the Houston area with sunny skies (the rain had moved on).

Traffic was minimal. I've never seen so few cars on the road, especially in Houston. We made it back a little before 11:30 am! That's great time, especially since my husband had to stop for some breakfast and coffee, then we had to stop for fuel.

Right after we got back, we were asked if we wanted to go to lunch, and we headed out for that. A couple hours later, sitting and talking, and now I'm posting here.

We had a great Thanksgiving week while visiting family and friends! We brought down a few more things we thought we didn't need (well, we lived for almost 4 months without them, but we decided it would be nice to have them anyway).

Sort:

Moving is a funny thing. I found things I hadn't seen in the almost 10 years since my last move. I had obviously not missed these items yet when I found them amongst the boxes that we packed from before, I couldn't bear to part with them. Some were treasures from long ago that I'd forgotten about. But the moment I saw them a flood of memories poured back into my mind. Then of course there were the items that I seriously questioned why I had packed them to begin with. Again, moving is a funny thing.

The things I brought back were a butter dish (I've been using a dessert plate here), a three-hole punch (I didn't think I'd need it, but with things I'm doing for the church, I do need it), extra sweaters (I thought I would need them, but not as soon as I did - I should have brought them when we first moved), my extreme face cream (I've been using the light, I didn't think I'd have such dry skin down here), and a few other little things that don't make sense to most people, but I've found them come in rather handy, and it cuts time off by using.
