I lost my reading mojo for a while, mostly due to studying and having to spend time reading scholarly articles and textbooks. A tired brain and tired eyes don't lead to much of an interest in recreational reading. I'm on study break now though, so have been carefully easing back into reading just for pleasure.
These are a few of the books I've read, are currently reading, or have on my to-be-read pile at the moment. Perhaps some of these will become future #hivebookbingo posts.
Junkyard Bargain by Faith Hunter
I had been waiting for what felt like forever for this book to come out as an ebook, rather than an audiobook. Like it's predecessor, Junkyard Cats, it is a fantastic novella who's only flaw is it is far too short. (You can read my review of Junkyard Cats here).
I love the whole premise of post-WWW3, mech warrior suits, nano-bots, and sentient cats. I read it in one sitting and now patiently await the next in the series.
The Life Plan by Shannah Kennedy
Yes, not a fiction book. I'm using The Life Plan as a tool to guide my journaling at present. It's proving very good at getting me considering aspects of my life, and I've had a few insights while working with it.
I originally borrowed Shannah's later book, Plan B, from the library and liked it so much I tracked a copy of both it and The Life Plan down for my personal collection. Both provide exercises and things to think about as your work your way through the book. I've actually found these to be quite useful, unlike some self-help books which can really miss the mark.
The Personal LIbrarian by Marie Benedict & Victoria Christopher Murray
This one is next on my TBR pile. When I came across it, I wanted to read it so much that I put in a request at my local library and they decided to purchase it for the collection!
The book is about J.P. Morgan’s personal librarian, Belle da Costa Greene. She was a Black American woman who had to hide her true identity in order to keep her job. Her curation and negotiating skills helped build the collection to what it is today.
I can't wait to get started on this one!

I hadn't heard of either of these, but I do like a good sci-fi/fantasy book series so the Junkyard Cats series sounds intriguing. I saw that the Personal Librarian is on Audible so I'm going to put that on my list. Thank you for sharing.
