Miró con cuidado por encima de mi almohada, buscando a mi mamá. Esta tarde hace calor y con mi patito de hule quiero jugar. Mamá insiste en que duerma porque tarde es, pero no tengo sueño, ¿qué voy a hacer?
No quiero canciones, no quiero biberón, solo mi patito y darme un chapuzón. Hago risitas y balbuceo un poco, a mi papá le encanta y se pone un poco loco. Mamá lo mira seria y no la veo reír, “deja al niño tranquilo” dice, “hay que ponerlo a dormir.
Me pone un gorrito, me palmea la espalda, me canta una melodía y me sube la sábana. En seguida me pongo a bostezar, pero en la tina yo quiero jugar. Mi patito de hule quiero aventar y el agua deliciosa quiero repicar.
Tengo una estrategia que no suele fallar. Me quedo tranquilo para fuerzas tomar. Uno, dos, tres, comienzo a contar, y como gallo en madrugada me pongo a cantar. Un llanto fuerte para llamar la atención, mamá se levanta con la solución.
Un baño de agua tibia en mi tina favorita. Mamá aprovecha a hacerme cosquillitas. Mi pato de hule hago sonar, logré mi objetivo con mi astuto plan. No dejo de reírme y de mi baño soy dueño. El agua tibia hace su efecto y ahora me da sueño.
She peered carefully over my pillow, looking for my mom. It's hot this afternoon and I want to play with my rubber ducky. Mom insists that I sleep because it's late, but I'm not sleepy, what am I going to do?
I don't want songs, I don't want a bottle, just my ducky and a dip. I giggle and babble a little, my dad loves it and goes a little crazy. Mom looks at him seriously and I don't see her laughing, "leave the baby alone" she says, "we have to put him to sleep.
She puts a little hat on me, pats me on the back, sings me a melody and pulls up the sheet. Then I start yawning, but I want to play in the bathtub. I want to toss my rubber ducky and the delicious water I want to splash.
I have a strategy that doesn't usually fail. I stay calm for strength to drink. One, two, three, I start to count, and like a rooster at dawn I start to crow. A loud cry for attention, mom gets up with the solution.
A warm bath in my favorite tub. Mom takes the opportunity to tickle me. My rubber duck is rattling, I've achieved my goal with my special plan. I can't stop laughing and I own my bath. The warm water takes effect and now I get sleepy.
