Smithys Bullion : Gaming Silver

in Silver Gold Stackers7 months ago (edited)

Many Stackers of Silver like to play with it, not just because it's shiny and aesthetically pleasing but it feels good to hold in the hand. Some stackers even go further and make games out of Silver. As part of my short series to showcase Smithys Bullion I thought today I'd show off a couple of games that he's made with his hand pours because they are a couple that I hadn't considered before.

The first one is Checkers and it's a great game to start with since it's very simple and the pieces are not too complicated so they can be made with a re-usable button mold. Smithy has polished up the white pieces to be nice and shiny and used some dark toning for the black pieces.

Here you can see the board laid out. When I think about playing this game and capturing my opponents pieces I would just want to play for keeps and add them to my stack. Reminds me a bit of the SGS Yahtzee game where they play for silver. Maybe we need to get some Silver Dice for that annual game at Vegas....but I digress...

Next up is the classic game of Dominoes and here you can see the set Smithy has made which has a fantastic smooth and shiny finish with the dots and lines colorized to make a very attractive game.

The back of the dominos show that each domino is 4 oz so the whole set comes out to be 112 oz. Probably the most expensive set of dominos you'll ever come across, but pretty cool regardless.

It makes me think about other games that might be suitable to be made out of silver. I mentioned Yahtzee before but Backgammon is probably a fairly easy one to do. We had our own @silverd510 talking about making a Chess set and that would be a very serious undertaking. I'd wager Smithy could make a very sexy Chess set with Investment Casts but it'd probably take months and be worth thousands. Never say never...

Oh I’m going to pour a chess set. It’s just the timing of it right now.

I believe you brother. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

How about an old vintage favorite , Mouse Trap!

Wow, that's a very cool idea. So many moving parts. Where would you start?

That's pretty cool but I wonder how the black silver will fair since the patina is just a thin delicate layer, quite the coincidence too I'm going to be posting some gaming type silver in tomorrows post !BBH

PLAY & EARN $DOOM

That's awesome! I've seen some pretty nice silver chess sets, but none are cheap because of the labor involved making it.

Dang, that is a lot of silver for those dominoes. I can just imagine the noise it makes while you are washing the bones! Dice would be cool for Yahtzee too. I like that idea.

This is the last game I remember we used to play a lot and one of our cousins came from Dubai so he brought it for us and he had a great time playing it.
