To the person who knows this post is response to their DM:
Since it appears you left any of our shared discords mid our dm conversation on November 24, I will continue my response to you here.
Whatever was happening in regard to your access to the “precious” discord server has nothing to do with your membership to silver gold stackers. That discord is run solely by @buggedout, and its only purpose is to manage the community delegation project. It is NOT the silver gold stackers community server.
You were removed from the “precious” server because of an argument between you and buggedout. As that discord’s owner and only moderator, it is at his discretion alone to remove (or add) someone from that server.
Being removed from that server has no effect on your membership to the silver gold stackers community. However, the argument between the two of you is another in a list of heated discussions between you and other community members.
From your messages and comments in the “precious” discord welcome room (and in our dm) I also think you are not entirely clear on the purpose of each community related discord, nor the roles buggedout and I play in the community. I am also not sure you are clear on community membership vs discord membership. So I am going to lay that out here.
Apologies if you do understand these things already.
Membership
As you know, membership to the community starts with posting about precious metals, and supporting/getting to know others who post about precious metals. Prospective members are brought to the attention of our community’s mod/moderators via the nomination and seconding process. The mod/moderators take several factors into account when approving nominations (including seeking input from current members). The mod/moderators accept or deny membership nominations.
I have been one of the moderators (and now only moderator) for silver gold stackers for maybe 7 years? I was asked to volunteer for the role in late 2018/early 2019.
Community members do not need to be on discord. Discord is just one tool we have to build relationships and to facilitate communication.
Discord
There are two official community related discord servers.
One - “Silvergoldstackers”
This is the main community discord, and it is run by me. This discord is where community announcements are made and raffles are held. It is accessible to all official community members and is accessible to anyone who wants to be in our server whether they are a precious metals stacker or not. This discord was originally created by silverstackeruk. When he stepped down from being a community mod, I was put in charge of this discord.
You were a member of this discord, but have left and rejoined at your own choosing many times.
Two - “Precious”
The “precious” discord is run by buggedout. ONLY official community members who also delegate to the community curation project have access to all of the channels in this discord. Bugged has set up a welcome room in that discord. The welcome room is accessible to anyone with a server invite, but is in “slow mode” to discourage chit chat in the room. Individuals only have access to the welcome room until bugged assigns them a role in the server. Roles in that server are only given to silver gold stacker official members who also delegate to the community curation project.
Being denied access to this discord does not affect your status as a community member. Nor does it prevent you from receiving the perks of delegation. It does make it more difficult to communicate with buggedout. Buggedout’s volunteer role in the community is the management of the curation project. However, buggedout can still be reached via our other discord server and via a tag on the Hive blockchain.
Things that do effect membership to silver gold stackers.
Inactivity. Over the years many people have left hive. If someone hasn’t posted or commented on anything for over a year. If they have also gone silent on discord, I assume they have lost interest in hive and our community. So I occasionally go through the membership list and check the activity of every member account individually. If people appear to be gone, I will remove them from the membership list. However they are always welcomed back.
Theft. Back when our community was on Steem, the individual running the curation account decided all of the Steem in the account was his. It was a BIG kerfuffle. (Understatement). This person was removed from the community and it forever changed how the community curation account would be managed.
Threats of violence. I removed someone’s membership in 2019 when he blew up in discord and declared he hoped me, summertooth, senstless, and thedamus (and our children) would die.
No one has ever been removed from our community for disagreement or debate.
However, our recent DM has made me think about community conduct. And where the line rests when it comes to inclusion and exclusion.
I DID NOT appreciate being called a CUNT in your dm to me. That would not fly face to face. That would not fly in a school or business setting. And it ESPECIALLY does not fly when you are initiating a dm with me to ask for my help.
I understand you were in a situation where you were feeling frustrated and angry. But those feelings were not as a result of my actions nor was I capable of taking action to resolve your frustrations. It is something you need to resolve with buggedout.
However, I am not surprised you snapped and then exited the conversation. Because this is what you do.
My patience for being called a cunt going forward is Zero. Keep your temper in check.
Thank you.
