RE: My Second Ever Silver Coin

ahh awesome!

How would you say if a coin is good for investment based on its rarity? I get that silver and gold ofc play a significant role but for instance is there a certain number on the number of coins out there? Like this one that i own has a total of 5000 coins out there, is 5000 for a "country-based" coin too much, decent or worthwhile?

Sort:

5000 mintage may be small but DEMAND popularity has a key role too. I have a few North Korean silver coins that have the same 5000 mintage and are rarely seen on the internet, even Numista.com doesn't even have one! yet they are not particularity attractive since the reverse design may not be well designed and cartoonish as with this Panda The Chinese Panda are a much better quality and are popular. If the North Koreans put a better quality design on their coin, the value would be higher.
So an ideal Investment coin ; Best condition, rarity, and popularity. And of course we should have an objective for why we buy that coin to begin with.

ahh cool thanks for the info. The panda coins in general look awesome from what i have seen!
