Last year we were deprived of our typical Summer Specials in the precious metals market, but not this year!
Weird things are going on here with my screenshot. What is this "Breaking News" bar? I swear things are getting wonky in my world. It is as if there has been a shift in the time and space continuum.
What is not unusual is the Summer Sale on precious metals. While gold is thus far holding the line above $1800 per ounce, silver dipped below $25 per ounce.
And you know what that means!
No way! It is time to make the Wednesday run to the coin store on Tuesday.
I did not see any rounds or sovereigns that struck my fancy so I settled for one ounce of American Junk Silver. And as always, I let the store clerk pick the coins out.

I am sorry, I meant my junk silver. Always happens to me when I don't clarify exactly what I mean.

So today I got one Walker half dollar, two Standing Liberty Quarters and four Mercury Head dimes.

The Walker half dollar is one of my favorite coins of all time. I especially like the eagle on the Reverse of the coin.
The Standing Liberty quarters are somewhat warn, but coins that are approaching 100 years old not bad.

Well that rounds out my recent addition to the stack!
As an aside, whenever I buy my silver, the jokers at the coin store always like to make change in coins instead of Federal Reserve Notes.
Today I paid $29.00 for one ounce of silver and got a Bicentennial Eisenhower Dollar as change. Not silver but also not a coin seen every day in circulation.
If you are not very good at math, I paid $4 in premiums above the spot price for silver. Not bad, as this is the first time in awhile that I paid less than $30 for an ounce of silver.

The nice thing about stacking every week is that I rarely pay much attention to the price, however a sale is a sale!
My house Insurance and City's Property Taxes came due this month so my Checking account is running on fumes. Gonna have to take a rain check on the Summer Price drop Sales happening now.
You know my home would end up on auction if I didn't pay up.
