Having a physical backing certainly provides a solid foundation so we will see if the world actually moves back toward that direction

The way central banks have to constantly hold or adjust interest rates lately just shows how fragile the modern fiat system is. A true global currency shouldn't rely on policy games to maintain its value, which is why a fixed physical standard sounds much more logical
