People that collected Silver coins when I was a kid were forward thinking about where the price was going and what they were removing from our real money. Copper prices were rising to the point that a (Wheat) penny was worth more than a penny.
Up to 1982 penny's were 95% copper and 5% other metal...
Then after 1982 they switched to 97.5% Zinc and 2.5% Copper
Now they are 99.2% Zinc and only .8% copper.....
I still keep all of my "real" copper penny's, I'll never retire over these penny's .....Hmm I'm already retired LOL!🤗
