Ho Ho Ho folks

It's coming up to that time of year again for the folks in the #silvergoldstackers to start figuring out what goodies to get their recipient for the 2025 Secret Santa.

Last year was my first time taking part, and it was great fun. Veryyy stressful trying to pick the right kind of gift, but overall I had a blast.

When our resident Welshman, welshstacker put up his post today it reminded me about the great idea Silverd510 does with his 12 Days of Christmas posts.

I didn't realise just how much I have been slacking in getting these 12 days of Christmas posts up! I am truly ashamed of my slackness in this regard.
But I am a changed man... for this moment in time at least. So I bring to you Day 7 of the 12 days of Christmas post-a-thon

This is the 2024 1 oz Year of the Dragon silver bullion coin from the Perth Mint.
I adore this piece so much, from the intricate artwork and design which is so detailed and just looks amazing. Sadly, this is another coin that I had a chance to buy for £40 odd and I didn't because I couldn't justify paying £12+ over spot. But now the thing is £60+.
Another mistake in my stacking journey that I will always remember and regret making.
Without these mistakes, though I wouldn't learn anything new or grow as a person and a stacker. So I welcome these errors and hope that I stop making them in the future.

The obverse of the coin: Queen Elizabeth facing to the right while wearing the George IV State Diadem and the Victorian Coronation Necklace. A memorial around the edge of the coin for Queen Elizabeth.
The reverse of the coin: A Chinese Mythical Dragon surrounded by waves and fog. I actually thought it was fire coming out of its mouth before I checked Numista 😅
Year: 2024
Value: 1 Australian Dollar
Currency: Australian Dollar
Silver: .999
Weight: 31.107 grams
Diameter: 40.9mm
Thickness: 3.5mm

Such a lovely coin that I would love to add to my collection one day. Along with the other huge amount that I want to add 😁

That 12 pound premium is discouraging when we are new to Stacking, I had faith in the fundamentals which will eventually pay off when we have the patience to go along with that faith. The Canadian bullion market is small compared to the US market and pieces I like will only be available ONCE, or else I'm guaranteed to see it in the secondary market at much higher price.
Like I said, I got used to ignoring premiums.
I'm content to have one of these.

It was extremely off putting at the time. But now I regret it so much.
I missed so many opportunities to buy when silver was cheaper haha
