Good day to you all, and thank you for stopping by to check out this new series I have started.
I present to you, Merlin the Chubbinator, Collector of Coins.
My son has been on many a trip to the Antique stores with me, helping me look for poins (coins) as he calls them. He also loves referring to them all as TREASURE, which he likes to shout at the top of his lungs.
I love this time that I get to spend with him, and adore that he is showing an interest in collecting silver with me.
Admittedly, he is only 3 years old, but he is so into it that on our last trip, he picked up some of his first bits.
I'll be documenting his journey for him as he's not really old enough to write just yet 😁
The obverse of the coin: Female head wearing a laurel wreath and facing to the left. Either side is the country name is divided by the head.
The reverse of the coin: The Goddess Minerva is facing to the left, standing next to an olive tree, reaching with her right hand. Her left hand is holding a long spear.

Currency: Lira
Metal Content: Acmonital, which is a mix of Iron and Chromium
Weight: 8 grams
Diameter: 27.8mm
Thickness: 2mm
Shape: Round coin
The little guy chose a number of really fun coins after I had gone through and tried to document them all.
This 100 Lire coin is from 1957. The Lira was used in Italy as currency from 1861 to 2001.
Overall, a very detailed coin which looks great. It looks a lot better than the usual rubbish that we have in the UK for our general currency coins.

This stainless steel coin may not have any silver but man these coins are meant to last forever considering the metal would wear out the minting dies faster. I happen to have a few of these in my fun international collection.
