A Good Friend

Valued far above jewels,
Rated higher than precious gems,
So weighty, no scale can measure
A good friend, a rare commodity,
A divine gift, to spice our lives.

A good friend is -
To be embraced except,
We are spiritually blind;
To be honoured except,
We lack good manners;
To be protected except,
We care not about tomorrow;
Never to be toyed with except,
We are mentally poor.

A good friend is to be treasured,
In good times, and bad times.
