Greetings, friends, are you tired of hearing about my walks with my dog around the village yet? Today I went for a walk at 9 a.m. because the sky was cloudy in the morning and I decided to wait until it got a little lighter outside. I went for a walk to the limestone quarry, which is now called Victor Tsoi Lake on local maps.

I usually walk to this lake through a forest where a ski trail was laid back in Soviet times. In summer, young motorcyclists now use it and keep the trail in good condition, clearing away fallen trees.
The “fathers and sons” problem has always existed. This means that older people like to say that young people want nothing in life, that they are lazy and hopeless. Nowadays, people say that young people spend all their time on their phones or computers and do nothing else. Young guys are into pit bikes and maintain the track for training themselves, but they also get scolded for riding on the streets.
I also rode a motorcycle when I was young, and I know what old people said about me and my friends back then. This is an age-old problem in the relationship between old people and teenagers.

But I digress again. This chair appeared in the forest three years ago and was in perfect condition.

I decided not to go straight to the lake, but to walk through the forest that grows on land dug up 40 years ago from the quarry I am heading to. Trees grow poorly on this land, mainly spruce and pine. The forest is completely silent; birds do not live here because there is no food for them in this place. It is a dead forest, even though it is alive.

That was the first goal of my walk—to take a photo of the landscape. And I saw that the clouds had moved south, the sky was clearing, and the sun was coming out.

So, I stepped out onto the road, the dog was about to run further along it, but the lake was behind me, so I headed towards it. The sky began to clear, and the day became brighter and more cheerful.

I came to live in this area in 1991, and at that time the quarry was no longer in use and had long since turned into a lake inhabited by fish. But in 2021, the plant, which had not been in operation for 20 years, suddenly began to develop a new quarry for limestone extraction and, at the same time, began to dig up the old quarry.

In summer, this lake attracts many people, especially on weekends. The water is the color of azure sea water, which appeals to young people. They are not even deterred by the fact that the new owners of the building materials factory are blocking access to the lake, digging trenches, and piling up mounds of earth on the road. By the way, the lake should already be covered with thick ice, but this year winter has not yet arrived and there is practically no ice. Climate change towards warming is evident.

These are developments at the quarry in the last year. Recently, a work shed reappeared, and a road leading to the quarry was opened. I also saw that an additional ditch had been dug and soil had even been removed in some places. From this, I conclude that new developments at the quarry will begin in winter.

This quarry was developed two years ago.
The stone extracted from this quarry is used in road construction. During the Soviet era, the plant also produced lime for agriculture, but this is no longer the case.

My second goal for the walk has been achieved. I looked at the quarry and realized that stone will be mined here in winter. Why winter? Because in winter, the road will be good and solid. In summer, the road will become mudd,y and it will be difficult for heavy trucks to transport stone from the quarry.

An hour and a half passed, and the sky became completely clear; all the clouds disappeared. It turned out to be a wonderful and warm day for this time of year.
Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.

Where is our childhood? You had a quarry, I had forest rivers. All that remains are our memories of them.
Вид с вершины ,окруженный деревьями просто шикарен!👍
Тока я не ожидал, что Солнце будет.
Надо вечером при заходящем Солнце здесь постоять. 😀
Superb scenic path to enjoy, every generation passes comment on the young, almost repeat process which is funny when you look back.
Thanks for taking us along and sharing the history of the region.

We must remember that we were young, too. I have 4 children, and I try to take new things from them and keep up with them. I realized a long time ago that they are better than me.
