Luckily for me Fridays often mean an early finish from work. That means more time to try and tire out my dog, the forest being my favourite place to do so and I'm pretty sure it's his favourite too.
It was an incredibly bleak day today, completely over cast and the usually colourful forest was a dull grey-green-brown everywhere. I was expecting to just march on and finish the foot path loop quickly so I could get home and eat the lunch that I had completely forgotten to eat.
I wasn't expecting to take any pictures today but the sky above me, or rather what dwells in it had other plans.
Being in Norfolk the sound of jets flying around is so common that you become deaf to it sometimes. And usually by the time you hear the jet it's already passed and heading out of view towards the horizon.
This time was a little different as a pair of F35s went over the top of us. For some reason the intakes of these things are just as loud as the exhaust. They howl, which gives you plenty of warning that they're about to fly over.
It's a noise that's difficult to explain so I found a link to a YouTube video with the exact sound if you're interested.
Thankfully doggo has spent so much time around noisy aircraft that he's now completely unphased by it and after a look of reassurance from me will carry on walking as if nothing happened.
I ended up making a discovery too. I took this photo of Max using my front camera over my shoulder as he was standing behind me. It's probably the most detailed picture of him I've ever taken!
Usually using the rear camera results in a totally washed out background, or a very grey looking dog. But somehow today it made him look true to life, it even captured his harnesses true black colour.
Take this picture for example. For some reason my camera gives him a very grey belly, and makes his black fleece harness look purple! Any photography experts know why this happens?
One thing is for certain. I need to take more dog selfies to investigate!
