The whole setup, with water, probably weighs 40 lbs. Not as much as you might think, but more than I'd like, which is why I'm asking for advice. This depends on how much food I bring along, etc.
The Silky saw is great for cutting branches to length, whether for firewood or building a lean-to. I mentioned using the big knife to baton firewood. And there is a sentimental aspect because it was a gift. I have considered a hatchet, and I have a cheap one. However, for my limited and specific use cases, the saw seems a better option to me.
I gotcha, that's less than I was expecting. Speaking of food, you got a bear canister? Fitting that in my pack was always a pain in the ass but I wouldn't trust my food with anything else out in bear country. Honestly, more than anything doing a few short, easy trial runs will tell you what's necessary and what's just nice to have. And what you're forgetting.
Part of my preference for the hatchet comes from it doing double duty as a hammer driving in tent stakes, which doesn't really apply to your setup. When I was growing up it was usually my bowie knife instead but that was driven more by a fondness for the knife than its actual utility.
I have the parachute cord, and I can use the tent stuff sack to hold food. I think that would be enough for hoisting food above bear reach.
