True that, a fast miss will just get you killed!
I π love ππ my 1911! Just a little big to daily carry, LOL π€ππ but it will cut paper out to 200 yards. Pure Nasty π€’ up close, and terribly reliable! I have a 15 round magazine that makes it even more serious....
I bought a full Lee reloading kit with a matching book. Then you only need buy the dies for whatever you want to reload. Very good starter kit!
The fastest draw I've ever seen was a sweet thing, with a mouse gun in a holster attached to her center bra strap. She drew and placed a round on target in 1.4 seconds! Don't want to piss her off for sure.... βΊοΈπ₯π
Now, pet that spoiled dog!

I'm not sure how far out the ballistics with a 1911 will reach...
I hit a 12-in square or so little old TV at 100 yards once. One day I was out shooting with my Marine corps brother and he got upset. Here I am shooting rounds across the canyon at the embankment on the other side of the canyon. He totally thought I was just randomly blasting.
About 300 yards off and I had asked him exactly how far is that one rock over there just above where my rounds were impacting. It was pretty big rock. My brother laughed and said there's no way you can hit that it's dang near exact 300 yards out.
Now I have to say this Marine corps veteran has an extremely specific set of skills and one of them happens to know exactly by eyeball within about 5 yards exactly what any range is visually. Even with binoculars. It's pretty crazy skill.
I have cut paper at 200 yards with a 45, but practical range is shorter. You can extend that range some by putting the round in something with a longer barrel, like a Thompson. π―π―π―
But it isn't a long range round, even though the 45 ACP is the best battle pistol ever (in my humble opinion)! πππ
I know people won't like my opinion, but I don't care, LOL.
