They sell a lot of heavy fishing gear for those beasties! Some of the catfish here are in the 40 pounds range too, and occasionally there is a noodler that gets drowned...the catfish won.

Hahah no thanks, noodling isnβt something I think I would ever be doing but thatβs wild. I guess we have carp here that requires heavy gear, some 40-50 pound ones in the major rivers in the area.
They do get big for sure! We caught one on a yo-yo that was big enough that it broke the hook, when I tried to string it. My Daughter was relieved, because she told me we didn't have room in the boat for it!
I understand that carp pressure can quite well, I'll have to try that. We can take carp with a bow and arrow here, with no catch limit.
