RE: Roadmap for Hive-related work by BlockTrades in the next 6 months

Nice to see this!
About the topic SMTs or second layer user defined tokens, would be nice if the wider community see more infos about it in some next posts.

We don't know much about them. Even less for the second layer tokens. Having two options will be a bit confusing.
The end goal should be easy and no dev (or very little) knowledge to create communities tokens.

Also it would be interesting to have some discussion (maybe even dhf voting) on some of the Hive tokenomics features.

I agree with you about the confusion.

The idea of HMTs (SMTs) appeals simply because it is instantly as decentralized as the HIVE token in terms of the number of nodes supporting it.

If we go with a second layer smart contract solution, the issue of centralization comes in.

Here is where I think more clarification is required as to how that will look. From past posts, I understood it to be some type of multi-server system.

Understanding how the proposed second layer smart contract solution would look is necessary I think. With that, users will be better informed.

Yes, I have much more to say on the topic of tokens (and tokenomics that are beneficial to Hive holders). But I don't want to get too deep into these economic issues until we've built some simple prototypes to explore the smart-contract evaluation system from a tech perspective. And to do that, we're going to first want to make 2nd layer apps easy to build as this is a precursor to developing that, and it's tech that stands alone and is clearly needed not just for the smart-contract system but for the entire apps ecosystem.
