Blocktrades and co, decided to abonden this as at the time, they said its to much work, and the end result will be tokens with limited scope ...

SMTs in this branch are largely implemented, but they are not mainnet-ready yet. The missing pieces are mainly production hardening: automated phase/emission execution, proper RC pricing/modeling, and mainnet hardfork activation. I might look into adding those to the PR and see what happens.
