Introducing Hypeturf, new Hive frontend for content creators

in HiveDevs2 years ago (edited)

Project Description

Hypeturf is a new Hive frontend for content creators similar to Peakd or Ecency that allows its users the ability to interact with Hive blockchain and perform operations such as posting and editing content, posting to and reading posts from communities and a full featured Hive wallet.

The website has been live for about a month plus. It is no secret that there are lots of capable frontends on Hive, however we (I and @mengene) have been disscusing about this and we are working to make Hypeturf more than just a frontend.

Current status of the website

Hypeturf website has been live for some time now, and the site has some features already implemented to help users create content, socialize and interact on Hive through our frontend.

Currently, the site all the following implemented and working

  • Homepage for viewing trending hot and new posts

  • Post creation and edit page for posting to communities and blog

  • User profile page for viewing user posts

  • User replies page for viewing replies to user comments

  • Wallet for claiming rewards and transaction like sending Hive and HBD, powering up or down, saving, delegating

  • Communities page where you can join or leave communities and view community info

  • Category page for viewing posts from a specific tag or community

Other implemented features include

  • Commenting on posts and replying to comments
  • Voting on content
  • Following other users
  • Reblogging posts

What is being built

Peer To Peer Promotion Campaigns

I am not sure if named this section right but I have been mulling over the idea for some time now and I feel like it would be valuable if we could have a frontend/interface on Hive where users can pay other Hive users directly in a P2P fashion using Hive for promotional services and web2 influencing.

Let me explain better, say user A has some message that they'd like to spread. Could be a piece of content, an event they are organizing, a landing page or whatever it is that they need to get in front of people's eyes.

Our hypothetical user would hypothetically be able to use Hypeturf as a bridge to help them connect with other Hive users who are active on popular web2 social media, pay these users some HIVE to help promote or microinfluence for them.

The idea is simple enough, I have been discussing it with my good friend @mengene and we feel it is a valid and potentially helpful thing to have in the ecosystem.

Hypeturf Storybook

Communities like The Ink Well exist for fiction short story writers.

Hypeturf is going to include a storybook feature which will be a frontend basically for story writers, it will allow any story writer to publish their stories in a collated fashion, that way they can be able to direct their audience to a specific page where they can read through all the stories they have published.

Aside short stories, this interface will also allow users to be able publish stories in series/chapters so any reader will be able to view all and choose from the different chapters of a story in one page.

P2P HIVE/FIAT Gateway

One thing we are also looking at is building a HIVE/FIAT gateway in Hypeturf that will allow users be able to trade Hive against FIAT currencies. There isn't much details on this now because all the working parts have not been fully worked out yet, but as time goes on more details will emerge regarding the steps that have and will be taken on it.

Currently, I have just started working on the promotions interface since I have spent the time prior to now working on putting the basic features on the site together. I will be able to provide more updates as time goes on and more features are added.

Thanks for reading through, kindly show some love by upvoting if you think Hypeturf is a new idea.

Not too impressed with the rendering of the pics in the feeds and it needs a night mode, but overall a good job.
Thanks for taking the time to create this.

Truly, there always room for improvement. Thanks for making note of those, I will definitely implement them. Thanks for the feedback too. Cheers

Thanks for passing by to my Actifit and upvote it :-) !LUV

Login with Keychain leads to the app trying to add posting authority to an unknown/unrelated account.

A NO GO to me!

I have just fixed this, so if you visit the website now you wouldn't get that prompt anymore. I would please like to implore you not to make this a NO GO. Thank you again

Glad to see you fixed it. The next step should be to add support for HiveAuth 😅

Definitely, HiveAuth is most def part of the plan. It'd be really great for users on the site to be able to sign in on mobile using Keychain/HiveAuth and perform ops through HiveAuth authentication. I don't know much about how the technicalities involved works yet but it is definitely getting implemented. Taking everything step by step till we get there.

Great! Feel free to contact me if you need help.

Ohh, I have seen that now. That was a spillover that I didn't get to remove, it is a new website so some development functions might be lying around.
The reason why that was added initially was because during development I wanted to erase the need to login and post with posting key by having an account that has posting authority so the key to that account would be the only required key while submitting a post. However I didn't get to use that approach and just simply forgot to remove that function(my test accounts have already granted the accounts posting auth so I simply don't see them anymore while logging in, that's probably the reason for the oversight). I am going to do an emergency update fixing that in a few hours.

Thanks for the feedback
