My antennae perk up when I see talk of banning anyone from a platform. If you don't want to follow the path of every other Web2 walled garden, you could have a black-list function. A user can create a black-list and others could include it in their rooms. If @snapie has a good blacklist then most users would adopt it - it can even be a default or a recommended "opt-in".
With no moderation it won't be very useable. I guess you could follow the resource-driven spam-disincentive model and have each podcast be a post; joining the podcast requires voting on the post. The bonus is that monetization gets built in.
yeah... a host can ban/kick people, and repeat offenders can be banned from using the platform

i hear you... idk where the line needs to be, but I know if there are no moderation capabilities, these apps won't get approved by the big boys.
