Over the last two weeks, I’ve given our beloved hive.io website a full facelift — visually and technically. A lot of work has gone into it, and I’m excited to share that the new version is officially live.
Why now?
Can you imagine that it has already been five years since I developed the initial version? It definitely needed an upgrade. I also wanted it ready for TOKENIZE:LDN, happening in London tomorrow, December 2–3, 2025. Hive has a huge booth there, we're basically sponsoring the networking area, and if we’re going to present Hive to a wider audience, then hive.io — our main entry point — needs to represent us well.
So… what exactly changed?
Quite a lot. And since visuals usually say more than a long explanation, here are two videos that highlight the transformation.
Before
After
A More Detailed Look

Technically, the site has been completely modernized. I replaced the old Nuxt 2 setup with Next.js 16, giving hive.io a more secure, stable, and future-proof foundation.

The biggest visible upgrade is the landing page. My goal was to make it more informative, more dynamic, and more modern - for the site to actually reflect what Hive is all about. Nearly all displayed data — blockchain activity, transactions, market cap, TVL, accounts, and more — is updated live and based on real data.
I also wanted to put a stronger spotlight on our community. After going through countless posts from HiveFests and other events, it became clear that our community is one of our biggest advantages, and it deserves to be front and center on the website.
The signup flow has also been overhauled and moved into hive.io/join. It now supports account creation via Hivedex, Inleo, Ecency, Actifit & others — plus self-created accounts and P2P signup links. Much cleaner and more accessible.
I’ve also added a small section at the bottom of the page that highlights comments from Hivers who replied to my recent post: What is Hive to you?
Special Thanks
A massive thank you to the community for all the feedback throughout this process. Special shoutouts — in no particular order — to @crimsonclad, @mahdiyari, @asgarth, @louis88, @engrave, @guiltyparties, @howo, and many others who shared their thoughts. Your input was incredibly helpful.
And an additional honorary shoutout to @guiltyparties, who took on the task of keeping the website updated with smaller tweaks over the years. Kudos!
What’s Next?
While I took the initiative on this redesign, there’s still a lot to do. The website is a public good — which means it grows and improves through community contributions. If you spot anything that should be added or improved, whether it’s images, wording, missing details, or entirely new ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out and collaborate. You can get in touch with me/us on Discord or Mattermost (contact @guiltyparties for access).
With all this said, I genuinely hope you enjoy the updated hive.io and that it helps showcase the amazing community and technology we have here on Hive.
Hive on!

so much better! i love the some darkareas to highlight specific stuff.
Those Blockdetails on the mainpage on the first sight its outstanding and completly easy to understand for outstanding people.
Kudos to everyone who participated.
Thank you!
I love the live blockchain activity table. Is there an easy way to embed it into twitter/reddit or other social media posts? It looks cool as fck.
Thanks! I love it too. Need to look into it whether that's possible.
That's looking great on my phone. Having live data is cool. I may even be in some of the photos.
For sure!
If anyone needs to be on photos as a true community guy then this is you :-)! Gald no one has photos from me and others from early meetups :-)
I'm just an enthusiast. I admire the dedication of people who get to even more events. One day you and I will actually meet!
!BEER
I admire this @steevc ! And true - it is a shame we never met even we know each other before Steemit was invented. In the early days i was actively meeting people on our Munich meetups - also met others frequently (not on these events though) privately or in small groups like @alexvan @twinner @detlev @lizanomadsoul and others.
I am not a fan of such events to meet where we only tell each others how great we are - but certainly would have enjoyed some - sad that many of the cool guys have left the chain. A lot brain we could use nowadays - never been a fanboy as such.
Thanks for being a great guy that always helps others.
The new site looks great! Bravo!
Is it really 9.69 years of network uptime?
Thanks! Should be. I took the timestamp of blockchin creation date.
Looks amazing, love it!
Just one suggestion: you should show visitors Hive blogs in a more explicit way. You only have "Explore" button leading to peakd.com/trending with unattractive content - don't think that's enough.
When saying unattractive, I mean this mix of Chinese, Spanish, and technical English that will win the hearts of very few.
There should be a better page that will prove that Hive community is cool.
Love "Join a Thriving Community" but people should also see real feed.
Imo.
Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback! I understand and I agree. It's not optimal.
Looks amazing! Much better.
We are still missing Wallets in the footer :)
Thanks! Fixed ;)
Awesome 🤩
Great to see some of these updates happening.
It might seem small but first impressions are everything so this is a huge improvement.
Keep working away and everything else will follow.
Thanks!
Looks good.
Means a lot. Thanks!
A really good update! Now we need to do the same with the dev documentation, it is a must-do right now imo.
Also, some feedback: it would be good to add a filter to the live activity component in the Hero section so some users/bots don't appear so often, and maybe even show users who have a profile pic, which would help to give it a cleaner look. Right now, it shows a lot some transactions of @ai-summaries, and I have a feeling it can happen with others. I am sure more users can be spotted on each block.
We can help translate the page into Spanish, which would be smt good for many of the users being targeted in many LATAM events.
Glad i were able to help in the progress of the development. We are not done yet but its a huge step forward! Thanks for the Work!
Cool upgrade, the live stats are awesome and also the Voices of Hive :)
Lookin good!
awesome work my friend! looking profesh af
May want to filter out the spammers like ai-summaries, blipcorn, kgakiller, and so on or they will be there pretty much every refresh.
you did a great job! congratulations. finally we have a new website. yeah, it was on time for a face lift.
Stunning! Thanks so much for this!!
The upgrade is bang on 🔥..especially the real time transaction update....worth for anyone to fall in love with it.
This is so Cool! I have a feedback on…. If we could show posted content(High-curated) popping with the rewards animation( separating Hive-HBD) as representation similar to Blockchain Activities? You can do that on giving upvote as well, And How Having HP sends upvote as well( So this examplify the reason to buy Hive).
With that Blockchain Activities you have given everyone the prospects of the multi-usage ! Great stuff!
Bravo ! entire Team..
Love it sir looking so great 👍😃
Sir using bootstrap or django for front end?
Some small frontend mobile issues. Hive logo and the footer.
Thanks for your effort, we need to keep these sites up to date. I wish we can get some AI agents to keep the thing updated and working. The website is a public good and we need to decide what will give us the better return. I think that even thought it focus more on the chain and tech aspects than the blogging part, I also think that we need to ask ourselves what kind of traffic do we want. I would love to see some AB Testing, AI Localization functionality, some sort of media that can showcase what we are, or at least have some visual queues like screenshots on what to do next.
The redesigned hive.io looks like a huge leap forward, and I love how the updates really showcase the strength and personality of the Hive community. The new secure foundation, the dynamic landing page with live data, and the smoother signup process all make the ecosystem feel far more polished and welcoming ❤️
The refreshed version of site looks nice and especially the live section is very good.
