It's been a long time since I took photos of one of my cats. Although that's not entirely true. Every cat owner surely knows this: "Cute cat! Take a photo! Oh, isn't she the cutest cat in the world?" Soon, the smartphone is filled with photos of their own cat. I'm no exception to this. To correct my initial statement: "It's been a long time since I took decent pictures of my cat."
The photos were taken with my iPhone and edited in Lightroom.
The little one's name is Ahri. Yes, just like the League of Legends character, even though I hadn't played League of Legends for ages by the time we got her. But the name suits her well. She is quite small for a grown cat, and compared to our tomcat Kingston, she almost seems tiny. He is almost huge for a tomcat... But back to the topic, Ahri is not discouraged by this, and during play, she often shows our tomcat that she can easily keep up with him. Occasionally, there's a paw that says, "Leave me alone."
All in all, I am very happy with how she has developed. This May, she will have been with us for almost two years. We got her from an animal shelter in Spain, which was set up by volunteers. Animal welfare associations cooperate with such shelters to relocate these animals to Germany. We chose this option for both of our cats and don't regret it at all. Even though the acclimation phase takes much longer than with cats you get as babies – it was definitely worth it!
Lange ist es her, dass ich Fotos von einer meiner Katzen gemacht habe. Wobei das auch nicht ganz stimmt. Jeder Katzenbesitzer kennt das sicherlich: "Katze süß! Katze Foto! Oh, ist sie nicht die süßeste Katze der Welt?" Das Smartphone ist dann innerhalb kürzester Zeit voll mit Fotos der eigenen Katze. Davon kann ich mich nicht lossprechen. Um meine erste Aussage zu korrigieren: "Lange ist es her, dass ich vernünftige Bilder von meiner Katze gemacht habe."
Aufgenommen sind die Fotos mit meinem iPhone, und editiert habe ich sie in Lightroom.
Die Kleine heißt Ahri. Ja, genau wie der League of Legends-Charakter, auch wenn ich zu dem Zeitpunkt, als wir sie bekommen haben, schon ewig kein League of Legends mehr gespielt habe. Der Name passt aber recht gut zu ihr. Sie ist recht klein für eine ausgewachsene Katze, und im Vergleich zu unserem Kater Kingston wirkt sie schon fast winzig. Der ist schon fast riesig für einen Kater... Aber zurück zum Thema, Ahri lässt sich davon nicht unterkriegen, und beim Spielen zeigt sie nicht selten unserem Kater, dass sie ohne Probleme mit ihm mithalten kann. Da gibt's auch mal die ein oder andere Pfote, die sagt: "Lass mich in Ruhe."
Alles in allem bin ich super froh, wie sie sich entwickelt hat. Im Mai ist sie jetzt schon fast zwei Jahre bei uns. Wir haben sie aus Spanien aus einem Tierheim, das dort von Freiwilligen eingerichtet worden ist. Tierschutzvereine kooperieren mit solchen Tierheimen und vermitteln solche Tiere nach Deutschland. Dafür haben wir uns bei beiden Katzen entschieden und bereuen es kein bisschen. Auch wenn die Eingewöhnungsphase wesentlich länger dauert, als bei Katzen, die man als Baby bekommt – das war es auf jeden Fall wert!
