Two days ago, we had an incident involving a lack of potable water in my region. This affected my entire neighborhood, but since we have water reserve tanks, we didn’t worry much. Unexpected situations happen, and these reserve tanks are for this type of emergency.
When I returned from work in the evening, around 10 PM, I did my usual routine and then went to brush my teeth to prepare for bed. Unfortunately, I noticed that the water coming from my faucet looked different. With the light on, I could see it was cloudy. I complained out loud but held back since the girls were sleeping...
The next morning, I had forgotten about the issue and went to make breakfast. Soon after, I remembered something was wrong because the coffee tasted different. I went to the nearest faucet and compared the water that was supposed to be drinkable.
I headed to the filter and poured a glass of water to compare, and this was the result. Unfortunately, the water company must have done some repairs, and dirt got into the pipes, which now seems to be stuck in my water tank.
The question I ask myself is whether I should throw it out (even though I've already paid for this poor-quality water). Or if I should try to use it for other purposes until the dirty water runs out. Either way, I don’t even have enough uses for all this water. What a sad day!
I took the opportunity to finish some touches on the sidewalk (pavers), and now I can pressure wash it before painting. This process should take two days, as I need to wait for it to dry. When it’s done, I’ll have a renewed driveway entrance. I’m looking forward to a great result! This lifts my spirits and brings a sense of something new!
Besides that, I need to clean up my garden, and there are still many weeds to be removed manually. We are considering either replanting grass in part of the garden or replacing it entirely with synthetic grass.

A dois dias tivemos um evento de falta de água potável na minha região. Isso afetou todo meu bairro e como temos caixas de reserva de água acabamos não importando muito. Imprevistos acontecem e essas caixas reserva são para esse tipo de situação.
Quando retornei do trabalho a noite, próximo às 22h, fiz minha coisas de rotina e em seguida fui escovar os dentes para se preparar para descansar. Infelizmente percebi que a água que saía da minha torneira estava diferente. Com a luz acesa, pude ver que estava turva. Reclamei em voz alta, e me contive pois as meninas estavam dormindo...
Durante a manhã esqueci do fato e fui preparar o café da manhã. Logo me lembrei de que havia algum problema pois o café estava com sabor diferente. Fui até a torneira mais próxima e pude comprar a água que deveria ser potável.
Segui até o filtro e tirei um copo de água para comparar, e esse foi o resultado.
Infelizmente a companhia de água deve ter feito algum tipo de reparo e entrou terra na tubulação, e que agora deve estar alojada na minha caixa de água.
A pergunta que me faço é se devo jogar fora (porém, eu já paguei por essa água de qualidade ruim). Ou se devo tentar usar para outras coisas até que a água suja se esgote.
De qualquer forma não tenho nem aonde usar tanta água. Que dia triste!
Aproveitei para finalizar alguns acabamentos na calçada (paver) e agora já posso lavar com alta pressão, para depois pintar. Esse processo deve levar dois dias pois preciso esperar secar. Quando estiver pronto, terei uma entrada da minha garagem renovada. Espero muito por um bom resultado! Isso anima a gente e trás um ar de coisas novas!
Além disso tenho que limpar meu jardim e ainda tem muita erva daninha para ser removida manualmente. Estamos estudando a possibilidade de repor a grama em parte do jardim ou substituir tudo por uma grama sintética.

oof yikes. Water is the most critical thing that so many people take for granted well drinkable water that is. Always good to have backups whenever you can. I'd be interested to get some updates on your around the house projects like the garden etc. I always love that stuff and seeing what others are growing and tips.
Regarding backup, I have three sources. Rainwater is the main one, which should supply the toilets.
Pool water is the first backup, there are many thousands of liters of water available.
And the third is the supply system, which delivers drinking water, which is paid for.
