Welcome back again on my Splinterlands Battle Mage Secret challenge. Same with my last post, we still have Keep Your Distance ruleset as our main theme.
Because this is my second entry, as usual I won't go detail about the ruleset. I will seek something different with my first entry. Because my first one is on an epic battle, which is the Ghost Card Tournament, so in this post I will pick something that is interesting.
13 manacap for one single ruleset, keep your distance. This is one of hectic ruleset, because it makes people avoid bringing range unit. Mostly people will go with magic focus line up, but on 13 mana cap? that's headache
So let's see our battle then
THE BATTLE
A battle of Fire vs Dragon on Modern Bronze rank battle. I believe my opponent should be a liquidity bot, because he has no guild. Most people on Modern has a guild, and noobies usually go to Wild because they are fed up getting bullied by experience players on Modern.
When the mana cap is not friendly, I usually trust Pelacor Conjurer as my main tank on that battle. He is one of the best one, not because of being powerful, but with 2 mana cost he is quite ridiculous for non attacking tank. And due to his 2 mana cost, it gives us more mana to spend or allocate on other units to make a better line up or attacking meta.
The other consideration is that Pelacor Conjurer is anti magic tank too, so he might be the best choice on low mana cap - Keep Your Distance battle.
The attacker I use all were range units, because I did not want to bump onto same Pelacor Conjurer on the opposing side. I did not want my meta got countered by my own meta too
Let see how this would go then...
- The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents. My opponent focused on Magic attack while my team was on range attack.
- My opponent came with 2 magic damage.
- My team had 3 range damage, however I had a healer on my side, the Venari Chrystalsmith
- From this point, I saw one major flaw on my opponent meta. I could say the battle was over from this point, I won this one.
- Nobody died in first round, because both of us delivering small damage. it's 13 manacap anyway, what could we expect? there would not be any big hitters or a star wars death star
- I killed their tank in previous round, the Nimbledock Scout. Too bad they did not get speed buff on her.
- Later on this round, I got their Scavo Chemist
- Round 4 was the last one, Their Djinn Apprentice could not stand the magic reflect damage. Good Game
CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
This battle became a one side match which I dominated everything. Actually my opponent used the right approach, but he just picked the wrong units for this battle. There were 2 big mistake he made on this battle
- Magic focus vs Pelacor Conjurer, it's like you meet something that designed to counter your meta. It's a massive lost on this point. The only way to break this rule is when you use super powerful mages, however that won't happen in small mana cap battle.
- No matter how small the mana cap, do your best to avoid having a firepower with 2 damage or less. The worse healing value is 2, so when you have only 2 damage or less, and your opponent has a healer, you are doomed. This was what happened in this battle, from the beginning I saw they only had 2 magic damage, and I had Venari Crystalsmith, its all over

The conjurer is one of the best tanks for this rule ,specially in low mana , great battle.
That with that low mana you made the right choice. Quix is perfect for that and mixing the life and dragon monsters, well done. I find these low mana matches a challenge at times, you have to think fast!
Great job!
