Just remember that if you delegate your LP, you're only eligible for however much you have remaining. For instance, I had Lion status, but when I delegated all of it, I was a 'newborn cub' again. When I undelegated, I returned back to Lion status.
By the way, we're going to introduce delegation rewards in the community this month (spoiler alert?), so keep a bit undelegated for now. 😁
