Proverbs 31: 11-21

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. " Prov. 31:10

🖊️ COMMENTARY

The duty of the mother in the home cannot be overemphasized when we consider her contributions to the wellbeing of the family. Motherhood is not a
title but a responsibility. William Ross Wallace John defined "motherhood as the hand that rocks the cradle, and the hand that rules the world."

The Bible enumerated some qualities of a godly and virtuous woman; she is such a priceless being in the home as her value is far above rubies. The summary of the qualities/duties are as stated below:

👉🏿 She must be fully trusted by her husband (Prov 31:11),
👉🏿 She must have discretion (Prov 11:22),
👉🏿 She must speak with wisdom (Prov 11:26),
👉🏿 She must be her husband's faithful companion and closest confidant (Malachi 2:14),
👉🏿 She must love and embrace her children (Psalm 113:9; Titus 2:4).
👉🏿 She must gracefully carry herself in everything (Prov 11:16).
👉🏿 She must be able to manage her home (Prov 31:27; Titus 2:5; 1 Tim
5:14):
👉🏿 She must be diligent; She must be able to accomplish anything entrusted to her care (Prov 31:13; 1 Tim 5:10);
👉🏿 She must be firm in her convictions and desires to teach younger women by example and instruction. (Titus 2:4)
👉🏿 She is prudent, intelligent, productive, skilful, wise with high
understanding (Prov. 19:24).
👉🏿 She is an inexhaustible store house of energy to her home. She should be able to keep the house neat and orderly (1 Tim 4:14; Prov 31:15).
👉🏿 She manages the household by applying God's laws including tithes and offerings and plans with her husband to have funds available to attend to essential feasts.
