🖊️ COMMENTARY

A 44-year old Florida mother, Lynette Reback, has a whopping 16 children, 12 of them her biological and four adopted. Their ages range between two and 22 years. Naija.com reported last year that having 12 biological children means that Lynette had been pregnant for 10 years of her life, delivery all normally without a single operation.

Part of the normal routines of this great mother's life is she home schools all her children and drives them to 88 different sports events every week. Lynette and her husband, David, are reported to be spending about N234, 000 on groceries per week while she draws up the roster of chores for the older kids since there are no servants in the house. In spite of all the work and sacrifices that Lynette and her husband are making, she still declares that "Raising children is the best job in the world."

Whoever you are, you must have been born by a woman or raised by one. Take time today to appreciate all the labour, love and lingering earnestness of hope that have gone out of that mother of yours to shape your life. Do something really remarkable to appreciate her today. How can anyone ever adequately calculate the investment their mother has made on them?
