Hello Splinterfam, warm greetings!
And finally… we meet again in this Splinterlands post. This time I’m not going to talk about battle just yet—I want to share a small progress update that I found pretty exciting: upgrading the production of my Land in Splinterlands. Yep, I’ve started diving deeper into the Land feature, and honestly… it’s addicting.
My Land is located in Praetoria < Land of Prosperity < 48 - Tridale—a Forest type land, which naturally focuses on producing Wood. At first, with the worker formation I was using, the production rate was 7.726 Wood per hour. Not bad at all, but you know how players are…
“If it can go higher, why not?”

The problem was, I didn’t have any specialized Land card that truly fit the setup. Didn’t get lucky in packs, and the market prices were still making me think twice. So like always, I took the middle path: renting.
And lucky me, there was one card on the rental market that instantly caught my attention: KINBOUND DRUID.

The moment I read its abilities, I thought, “This looks perfect for my Forest.”
Its bonuses are pretty wild:
- -10% Dark Energy Cost (Dark Discount)
- +7% production if an Elf is among the worker monsters
- +10% Wood production bonus
- Also functions as a Power Core
Without thinking too long, I rented it.
Once the card came in, I started reshuffling the worker lineup on my land. I replaced two monsters, specifically in Worker Slot 4 and Worker Slot 5. Not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous. Every time I swap cards, it feels like a gamble—production could go up… or completely flop.
And the result?

Boom.
My Wood production shot up from 7.726 to 9.177 Wood per hour.
It was a big jump. Almost like watching your SPS balance steadily creep upward—slow but satisfying. Each monster’s efficiency also increased by 10% thanks to the Kinbound Druid effect. At that moment, I finally understood what real land optimization feels like.
But of course, there’s no increase without consequences.
With higher production, Grain and Energy consumption also increased. This is something I’m still calculating carefully. Does the extra production justify the additional costs? Roughly, it still feels profitable, but for long-term sustainability, proper resource management is a must.
And since this is a rented card, there’s a warning that honestly made me a bit uneasy:
You are staking a delegated or rented card on this plot. You will need to be mindful of having enough Grain in your balance when the rental or delegation expires. Otherwise when the card is removed, triggering an automatic harvest, the produced resources will be forfeit.
Meaning, if the rental expires and I don’t have enough Grain when the card gets removed automatically, all the produced resources can be lost. Scary, right?
For now, this is one of my strategic experiments in Land. It helps me evaluate whether to buy my own card later, continue renting, or maybe mix both. And honestly, I still have one big weakness in my setup:
I still have a card that doesn’t synergize, causing an Element Penalty of -50%. This is my next homework.

From this little experience, I learned something important:
Land isn’t about how fast you get rich—it’s about how well you manage things.
Place the wrong card, miscalculate Grain, or forget a rental timer—any of these can backfire.
But truthfully, seeing the Wood production jump by almost 1,500 per hour felt… satisfying. A small kind of joy that makes you smile at your screen.
To wrap things up, for those of you just getting into Land in Splinterlands, my simple advice is:
don’t be afraid to experiment, but always calculate the risks.
Renting is totally fine—as long as your resource management is tidy. Slow and steady is perfectly okay, as long as you stay consistent.
That’s all for my Land progress update this time.
Hope this gives you a little insight if you’re also tinkering with plots in Praetoria.
See you in the next update!
