Splinterlands’ Latest Voucher Card: How Useful Is It?

in FreeCompliments14 days ago

Hello, Splinterlands fighters. Hope you’re feeling happy as this year comes to an end.
Did you know there’s another event to use your vouchers? That’s how it always goes—every time Splinterlands releases a new Voucher card, there’s a mix of curiosity and anxiety: will this make Vouchers even more deflationary, or will it just end up as a prestige collectible?

Honestly, when I realized it had already been a week since this latest Voucher card appeared in the Voucher Shop, I finally paused and thought: “Okay, is this card actually going to be used, or will it just pass by?”

The card I’m talking about is Cloveria Morth’lana, the third Voucher card from the Conclave Arcana set, and the sixth Voucher card in the game’s history since Vouchers were “promoted” to a main utility—no longer used as pack discounts or Wild Pass alternatives. And yes, like every new release, it stirs up the same classic question in my head: is it worth redeeming?

A Brief Introduction: A Fragile Elf with a Surprise

Cloveria Morth’lana is an Epic Life unit of the Elf race, with a mana cost of 7. But once you look at the details, expectations quickly hit the brakes. Max Health is only 3, no armor—clearly not the kind of monster you proudly place on the front line to greet enemies. But don’t frown just yet, because that’s not where her strength lies.

At max level, Cloveria has:

  • Recharge (a big attack, but only every two rounds),
  • Ambush (can attack in the first round),
  • Camouflage (safe from Opportunity as long as she’s not in the front),
  • and the most tempting one: Double Strike.

This combination makes her feel like a patient but deadly sniper. When it’s her turn, she can strike twice with heavy damage—and at the right moment, the impact is very noticeable. She would have been even more perfect with Close Range, but unfortunately, she’s limited to just four abilities.

Experience and Challenges: Between Hope and Reality

When imagining Cloveria on the battlefield, I was initially optimistic. Ambush + Recharge means she can attack right in the first round—a surprise not every opponent is ready for. But on the flip side, that 3 health is extremely thin. One wrong position, one misread ruleset, and it’s game over.

That’s the challenge. Cloveria isn’t a “just throw her in” card. She demands attention, proper setup, and honestly, a max level so her Double Strike truly shines. Without that, her potential feels like it’s being held back halfway.

About Vouchers, Fortune Draws, and the Foil Temptation

In the general sale, a single copy of Cloveria costs 250 Vouchers, with a 2% Gold Foil drop rate and a Black Foil chance of 1 in 4,000 BCX. With Alchemy Potion and Midnight Potion, the odds can be doubled—but in the end, it still comes down to nerve and calculation.

I like the direction Splinterlands is taking with Voucher features. There’s variety—direct purchase, draws, or auctions—and all of it feels like an event, not just a transaction. The data also shows Total Vouchers Spent: 15,508,800 on card features so far, and Vouchers Spent on this card: 633,000. That’s a decent amount burned from the system.

For me, Cloveria Morth’lana is a card suited for players who enjoy experimenting, like surprises, and are willing to play patiently. If you’re a collector, a Life-element fan, or someone looking to leverage Vouchers with foil potential, this is an interesting moment. But if your focus is purely on meta and efficiency, it might be wiser to wait.

For beginners, here’s a simple strategy:
don’t rush, calculate your resources, review your collection needs, and understand your own playstyle. Because in the end, no matter how strong a card is, it’s still just a tool—the result is decided by our hands and our minds.

See you in the arena, and may your choice this time not just be following the crowd, but something you truly enjoy.
