Estoy emocionadísimo de compartir mi mix para la competencia de la Semana 43, decidí ir por algo que le guste a mi comunidad favorita : puros remixes latinos. I chose this genre because, honestly, I grew up dancing to reggaeton and hip hop at family parties in my house in Cuba, and Latin remixes are like that direct connection to my roots. It's not just music for me; it's therapy. I chose tracks that fuse Latin classics with modern electronic beats because I wanted something energetic that would keep you moving nonstop. I wanted the mix to have that raw Latin essence, but accessible to everyone, without complications.

Elegí este género porque, honestamente, crecí bailando reggaetón y hip hop en fiestas familiares en mi casa en Cuba, y los remixes latinos son como esa conexión directa con mis raíces. No es solo música para mí; es terapia. Escogí tracks que fusionan clásicos latinos con beats electrónicos modernos porque quería algo enérgico que te haga moverte sin parar. Quería que el mix tuviera esa esencia latina cruda, pero accesible para todos, sin complicaciones.

A little quick history for context: Latin remixes began to take shape in the 1980s and 1990s, when producers in Miami and New York began blending traditional rhythms like salsa, mambo, and merengue with influences from hip-hop and disco. Artists like Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine were pioneers, bringing Cuban and Puerto Rican sounds to global radio stations. Then, in the 2000s, it exploded with the rise of reggaeton—think Daddy Yankee or Don Omar—where remixes incorporated electronic and trap elements, turning it into a global phenomenon. Today, with tools like Ableton and FL Studio, anyone can recreate this from home, democratizing production. My mix pays homage to that evolution: taking the old, making it fresh, and sharing it on the blockchain so it lasts forever.
