Está canción tiene su "leyenda urbana" ya que cuando salió, se estuvo asociando su escucha con suicidios infantiles y se corrió la voz de que oírla provocaba el suicidio en los niños. Luego bajaron "las acusaciones" a qué "simplemente" producía dolor de cabeza debido a la altísima frecuencia de sus sonidos.
Realmente, puedo contar como mi experiencia personal que sí sentí un ligero dolor en los oídos al escuchar la versión original. Aparte de ello su melodía no la siento tétrica, ni la asociaría con algo terrorífico.
A nivel musical llama la atención el acompañamiento que se mantiene durante toda la pieza inalterable con cuatro notas: Do, sol, si, fa# haciendo juegos extraños con la melodía principal que toca la mano izquierda, algo opuesto a lo convencional, ya que comunmente la derecha toca la melodía principal mientras es la izquierda la que se encarga del acompañamiento.
Elegí el sonido de "Recorder" en el teclado buscando mayor similitud con la
versión original.
