If we remember the classic arcade games of the past, it will never be lost in our memories and will always make an impression on our hearts. But I'm sure many gamers today are not familiar with arcade platforms, which offer a variety of games that were no less challenging in the past. Perhaps because of that, Capcom launched the Capcom Arcade Stadium.

Capcom has launched Capcom Arcade Stadium which offers 32 classic arcade games contained in Capcom Arcade Stadium now available for Nintendo Switch. For you who love retro games you can choose a specific package or choose an all-in-one package containing 32 games at once.

Capcom Arcade Stadium contains more than 30 games released in 1984 - 2001 and also presents in-game challenges along with a global leaderboard to keep attracting players. We've seen many of these games slowly make their way into different generations of consoles in the past few years.

Nah! with over 30 games, btw I'm not going to go over everything in it, but I'm going to provide some insight into what this collection has to offer. One that is satisfying is the number of hard action games available. Some of them are Street Fighter II, Ghosts n 'Goblins, and Commando, three classic games that are always present in arcades. Indeed, these games have often appeared in many compilations such as the Capcom Classics Collection on the PS2 and Xbox, but without them it will feel incomplete.

Apart from the top titles above, there are also games like Powered Gear and Tatakai no Banka which were previously only available in Japanese arcades. The existence of these games is an added value that allows other players to try classic games that they have never tried before. The downside of this game catalog is that almost a third is still under the flags of 194X and Street Fighter. Indeed, these two are the biggest franchises from Capcom, but it would be better if this collection were more varied.

Growing up in the 2000s, many games from this collection were overlooked by me in the past. Three games really caught my attention, namely Mega Twin, Cyberbots and Forgotten Worlds. Cyberbots feels very different from other fighting games because it has a robot theme. Mega Twin is a side-scrolling platformer that reminds me of the Wonder Boy series, as well as Forgotten Worlds which is a shoot-em-up game with a very flexible game for you to adjust the weaponry of your ship.

This presentation deserves praise for evoking memories of standing and playing arcade machines in a crowd. Each game comes with its own arcade unit display, and while playing you can watch other units light up playing other games. A light touch that should be appreciated is that we have to put coins into the machine if we lose and want to continue playing. The criticism that I can give in this case is that each arcade unit is themed according to the game being played, so far the unit has the same basic design so it feels bland to be enjoyed for too long.

As with any retro collection, there is the opportunity to create a save state and there is also an option to replay. In each game you can adjust the level of difficulty and speed of the game which is very helpful, especially for games like Ghosts n 'Goblins. You can also change the screen size, orientation, and also use filters that can give a retro effect to the screen. Another interesting thing is that you can save separate rules for each arcade cabinet you use, so you don't have to go back and forth to adjust the settings every time you change the game.

With this feature, there are also various challenges that can keep players tied. You can compete with the entire community on time-limited scores and challenges for each game and there are also in-game achievements or Triumphs that you can unlock. New special challenges are present every week that have specific rules such as only having one life or you have to play with the screen upside down. It's a cute and fun way to freshen up the game and challenge veterans.

Capcom Arcade Stadium is a well-crafted collection that collects the best games from publishers/developers of its time. Many giant franchises exist such as Street Fighter and Ghosts n 'Goblins, as well as exclusive Japanese games such as Powered Gear. Unfortunately this game is quite covered by the many titles from the 194X franchise and Street Fighter, but I am willing to ignore that because a lot of detail is given to the challenges and game settings.

I totally missed the free giveaway of Ghosts n' Goblins so I might have to pick this up. It's so relaxing to lean back on the couch and play some retro games on the handheld Switch. I've been having a great time with their NES and SNES emulators.

Haha yap many people missed that, but it doesn't matter because we can still enjoy other retro games that are quite challenging. And yeah don't forget to provide coffee, so you can enjoy it more when you play the retro games there. xD
