God of War 2 ended in one of the most intriguing ways in any video game ever, with Kratos declaring war on all of the Olympus with the help of the titans, making God of War 3 one of the most expected installments of all times and finally, after three years, in 2010 the third installment that would culminate everything went on sale, exceeding everyone's expectations becoming a video game that is mandatory to play if you have a Play Station 3. We will explore it in this review of God of War 3, available for Play Station 3 and Play Station 4 as a remaster.
In God of War 3, we follow the events of God of War 2 in which Kratos declares war to the entire Olympus, thus beginning an adventure full of revenge and many deaths. God of War 3 does not differ much mechanically, since it follows the same scheme of other games, only with certain changes and improvements that makes this experience the best in a God of War game, this and adding the graphic evolution of the game, which had a titanic improvement, making our conflict against the gods an epicity.
In this new installment, our main weapons with which we will rip our enemies apart in the most brutal ways, will be the Blades of Exile, which have a movement set similar to those of the old installments. Not only will we have the help of the Blades of Exile as throughout the game we will be obtaining new secondary weapons that will be added to our repertoire. hese weapons will be very useful throughout the game, not only for combat, but also to advance in certain areas of the game.
We will be getting items that will help us advance through different levels. These items will spend a yellow bar that we can improve as well as our health and energy bar. These items will not be very difficult to improve, since they do not ask for many orbs when it comes to improving them, it will also only be possible to improve them once, so the greatest degree of difficulty of the improvements will be focused on melee weapons.
As in previous installments, we will be able to improve both our main and secondary weapons, as well as the items that we obtain as we progress in the game. For this, we must get red orbs that we can obtain by killing our enemies, breaking objects on the stage or opening chests that contain them. Orbs will not be scarce but to obtain them all we will have to have a very sharp view, since some are hidden.
After the first minute of playing, one thing is clear: this new adventure of Kratos has been born with the clear vocation of putting on a show. Everything is gigantic, monumental, of colossal proportions. we are not just referring to the level of detail, no, we mean that the Spartan is, more than ever, a flea in a giant world, proof of this is the first scenario, Gaia herself, which moves and shakes as we climb her causing the ground to become roof, wall and cliff at the same time.
And being such a visually spectacular game, God of War 3 had to cut puzzles, since this time, the story will go more to the matter of things, without many deviations, which is quite a good thing, there will be puzzles but these will be highly visible reduced, since God of War 3 focuses more on the action and to marvel at its artistic style and graphics, which even today do not cease to amaze.
The mythical Quick Time Events of God of War are back, this time more brutal and bloody than ever. Kratos will tear our enemies apart in the most inhuman ways possible to please our morbidity, with better attack choreography and executions that will leave us speechless.
In summary, God of War 3, as I said before, is a must-play videogame if you have a Play Station 3, you will be playing one of the best hack and slash game made for its time, even today. God of War 3 will not cease to amaze you with its fantastic combat system which has been more polished than ever. We can see a better Olympus than ever seen in other installments, where we will enjoy an amazing visual spectacle. I highly recommend that you play it, as it is totally worth it, being one of the best endings in a trilogy that I have seen in a video game.
