After years of waiting for this news finally on December 17th, they confirmed that they are working on an MMO of the LEAGUE OF LEGENDS universe.
On December 17 Greg Street, head of creative development at RIOT GAMES confirmed that they were working on an open-world LOL game, before this announcement there were many open secrets and rumors, which filled the community with intrigue.
Since recently the catalog of the LEAGUE OF LEGENDS universe has expanded with several titles such as LEGENDS OF RUNATERRA, LEAGUE OF LEGENDS WILD RIFT,* VALORANT*, TEAMFIGTH TACTICS and soon RUINED KING: A LEAGUE OF LEGENDS STORY, it should be noted that VALORANT does not belong to the LEAGUE OF LEGENDS universe but is from the RIOT GAMES catalog, that's why I include it. All these games have had relative success, never at the level of LOL but they were well received by the gaming community.
There is still no planned release date for the game but it is expected that by the end of 2023 it will be ready, there were already some things developed and that will advance a little more the release date but it is impossible that by 2021 or 2022 the game will be ready. We are still happy because it is a motivation at least for me, now I am looking forward to those dates because who does not want to play it, it is 100% sure that the game will be in the number 1 position in terms of gaming trends. What is likely is that they will launch an alpha version at the end of 2022 and we will have more news about it.
We can say that the MMO is going to be an extremely complete game, and that makes it quite complex to develop. The LoL universe is very broad and that is excellent for the plot of the MMO, for example, the regions that we will play in would be super cool and this may be how they will take place:

To date, there is nothing to confirm what the map and regions will look like but it is very difficult to think that this is not the case. They may take a similar map and expand it by adding new continents and new regions. All this lack of information makes us imagine what this game will be like, and believe me, everything we imagine with this game will come true. It has all the ingredients to compete with the almighty WOW.
As for the classes, we will certainly see the same roles as always TANK, HEALER, and DPS with their different variants.

As for the races it is very difficult because they are all humanoids and there is not an extensive variety of races in LoL, we only find the Vastaya and the yordie as predefined races, this is something they will work on for sure. With the fact that LoL characters appear in the MMO, I am a little thought, it would not be so nice that they take much prominence in the new game, as they would lose value as established characters, it would be quite rare that you belong to the noxus faction and DARIUS send you to do missions, after a while this character loses relevance, and the other big disadvantage would be LoL, LoL characters should appear in the MMO as a wink, as a cameo, so that the real game to which they belong as LoL would not lose its essence.
