Assassin's Creed is an extensive saga of video games that has earned a place in the hearts of many people throughout its existence in the world of video games. There are good and not so good games, and it is not that the saga is at its best but remembering its golden age I decided to go back to a game that made a difference and would be remembered as the best of all: Assassin's Creed 2. The second installment of the saga would work both for revolution and to mark the path of what would be the whole history of Assassin's Creed.
Assassin's Creed 2 tells the story of Ezio Auditore, who is a young man who lives in his own style and without any kind of retaliation, one day his family is betrayed and killed, the young Ezio would have to witness the death of his father and two brothers, leaving his mother and sister alive. Soon Ezio would learn that his father was part of a creed of assassins who sought to save the world from the Templars, so later Ezio would join that creed in search of revenge against the people who caused the death of half of his family.
This second installment in a great game, not for nothing is considered the best game of the entire saga, at a technical level, compared to the first installment, we see many improvements in what would be the gameplay, story, graphics, missions and basically everything. I dare to say that Assassin's Creed improves everything we saw in its previous installment, now we have a little more fluid movement and certain additions that add a little more dynamism to the game and its mechanics no longer feel as slow and cumbersome as in Assassin's Creed 1.
As for the story we continue where we left off in the previous game with Desmond fleeing the Abstergo facility to meet with the assassins and search for the Fruit of Eden. In the story of the past we have new protagonist and new locations, Ezio as a protagonist is very good and in a way we came to love him a little more than Altair as the latter was shown with a personality a little cold, or at least what I remember, and we could not explore a little more in his facets as a character. The secondary characters are also very important and play crucial roles in different sections of the story, all will help us in some way to fulfill our goal to reach a revealing end where they are shown as members of the order of the assassins receiving Ezio as a new member.
The mechanics improved and it is something more than obvious, now the scale is not so tedious and becomes a little more intuitive as we advance in the game, the different cities where the story develops will force us to climb more than once and it is something that I really liked either to have a different angle of the place where we have to infiltrate or to kill an enemy that could screw up the whole mission. A new mechanic that is implemented is the hidden cannon that Ezio wears on his wrist, it's very useful but also outrageous, I don't remember using it much when I played Assassin's Creed 2 but I did try it enough to see that it wasn't very good to use it when you were surrounded by enemies.
The missions are a little more varied among themselves and we do not fall into the constant repetition of Assassin's Creed 1, here if you feel that they are really different missions from each other and it is something that is appreciated. We have the typical of an Assassin's Creed, infiltration missions, go unnoticed, rob someone, listen to a conversation and defend a fortress, classic elements of a game of the series. Particular missions such as testing the hang glider created by Leonardo da Vinci are missions that undoubtedly remained as a nice memory in the memory of many people.
The combat system remains the same but with improvements, the enemies do not attack one by one but varies a little depending on the situation in which you are but still some are still waiting for their turn to die, the buttons are the same one to block, one to make the counterattack and one to hit; I do not think it has much complexity. Something good is that you can take the weapon from the ground of the enemies, you can't keep it but you can use it for combat at that precise moment.
Assassin's Creed 2 is a great game that unfortunately has not aged very well, some years have already taken their toll but the revolution that this game was for the saga is something that many people who love this franchise thank us for giving us one of the best protagonists in the history of Assassin's Creed. A highly recommended game, if it has its little things, I only remember once I ran into a bug and had to close the game, the AI is not very good to say, it would not make sense for me to complain about the combat if it was always this way and the most important point is that time did not come well to the game, unfortunately but that's how it is. Very good game and highly recommended.

Assassin’s Creed es una extensa saga de videojuegos que se ha ganado un puesto en el corazón de muchas personas a lo largo de toda su existencia en el mundo de los videojuegos. Hay juego bueno y no tan buenos, y tampoco es que la saga este su mejor momento pero recordando su edad de oro he decidió remontarme en un juego que marco una diferencia y sería recordado como el mejor de todos: Assassin’s Creed 2. La segunda entrega de la saga funcionaría tanto para revolución como para marcar el camino de lo que sería toda la historia de Assassin’s Creed.
Assassin’s Creed 2 nos cuenta la historia de Ezio Auditore, quien es un joven que vive a su estilo y sin ningún tipo de represalia, un día su familia es traicionada y asesinada, el joven Ezio tendría que presenciar la muerte de su padre y dos hermanos, quedando con vida su madre y su hermana. Al poco tiempo Ezio se enteraría que su padre formaba parte de un credo de asesinos que procuraban salvar al mundo de los templarios, por lo que posteriormente Ezio se uniría a ese credo en busca de venganza en contra de las personas que causaron la muerte de la mitad de su familia.
Esta segunda entrega en un gran juego, no por nada es considerada el mejor juego de toda la saga, a nivel técnico, en comparación con la primera entrega, vemos muchas mejorías en lo que sería el gameplay, la historia, gráficos, misiones y básicamente todo. Me atrevo a decir que Assassin’s Creed mejora todo lo que vimos en su anterior entrega, ahora tenemos un movimiento un poco más fluido y ciertos añadidos que le agregan un poco más de dinamismo al juego y ya sus mecánicas no se sienten tan lentas y engorrosas como en Assassin’s Creed 1.
En cuanto a la historia continuamos donde lo dejamos en el anterior juego con Desmond huyendo de las instalaciones de Abstergo para reunirse con los asesinos y buscar el Fruto del Edén. En la historia del pasado tenemos nuevo protagonista y nuevas ubicaciones, Ezio como protagonista es muy bueno y de cierta forma llegamos a quererlo un poco más que Altair ya que este último se mostró con una personalidad un poco fría, o por lo menos lo que recuerdo, y no pudimos explorar un poco más en su facetas como personaje. Los personajes secundarios también son muy importantes y juegan papeles cruciales en distintos tramos de la historia, todos nos ayudarán de cierta forma a cumplir nuestro objetivo para llegar a un final revelador donde se muestran como miembros de la orden de los asesinos recibiendo a Ezio como nuevo miembro.
La mecánicas mejoraron y es algo más que obvio, ahora la escala no es tan tediosa y se vuelve un poco más intuitiva a medida que avancemos en el juego, las diferentes ciudades donde se desarrollan la historia nos obligaran a escalar más de una vez y es algo que me gustó mucho ya sea para tener un ángulo diferente del lugar donde tenemos que infiltrarnos o para acabar con un enemigo que nos podría fastidiar toda la misión. Una nueva mecánica que se implementa es el cañón oculto que lleva Ezio en la muñeca, es muy útil pero también escandaloso, no recuerdo haberlo usado mucho cuando jugué Assassin’s Creed 2 pero sí lo probé lo suficiente como para ver que no era muy bueno usarlo cuando estabas rodeado de enemigos.
Las misiones son un poco más variadas entre sí y no caemos en la constante repetición del Assassin’s Creed 1, aquí si se siente que de verdad son misiones diferentes unas de las otras y es algo que se agradece. Tenemos lo típico de un Assassin’s Creed, misiones de infiltración, pasar desapercibido, robar a alguien, escuchar una conversación y defender una fortaleza, elementos clásicos de un juego de la saga. Misiones particulares como probar el ala delta que crea Leonardo da Vinci son misiones que sin duda quedaron como un bonito recuerdo en la memoria de muchas personas.
El sistema de combate sigue siendo el mismo pero con mejoras, los enemigos no atacan uno por uno sino que varía un poco dependiendo de la situación en la que estés pero igual algunos siguen esperando su turno para morir, los botones son iguales uno para bloquear, otro para hacer el contraataque y otro para golpear; mucha complejidad no creo que tenga. Algo bueno es que puedes tomar el arma del suelo de los enemigos, no te la puedes quedar pero sí que la puedes usar para el combate en ese preciso momento.
Assassin’s Creed 2 es un gran juego que lamentablemente no ha envejecido muy que digamos, algunos año ya le pasan factura pero la revolución que este juego supuso para la saga es algo que muchas personas que amamos esta franquicio agradecemos por darnos a uno de los mejores protagonistas en la historia de Assassin’s Creed. Un juego muy recomendado, si tiene sus cositas, solo recuerdo una vez que me topé con un bug y tuve que cerrar el juego, la IA no es muy buena que digamos, no tendría sentido que me quejara del combate si siempre fue de esta manera y el punto más importante es que el tiempo no le vino bien al juego, lamentablemente pero es así. Muy buen juego y muy recomendado.
Great game! One of those who were responsible for taking the saga to the highest level, I also liked 3 very much, but I think 2 surpassed it hahaha.
Assassin's Creed 3 is my favorite but 2 is a very difficult game to put it down on the pedestal it is on, but that aside it is a great game and has an excellent story. Cheers : )
