Xbox Series S is a great console. In the area of 300 USD you can feel the next gen experience, and at the same time decorate the living room with its beautiful case. Unlike the Series X, it looks pretty much unearthly. The small, sleek design looks more like a Game Pass decoder than a next gen console. It also comes with a white pad, which in my opinion looks much prettier than the black version. Maybe it's due to the lack of dust visibility. However, I recently decided to change this and replaced the console with an old console from Nintendo. But exactly - why?
Well, only a crazy person could do that. Xbox Series S beats the Switch in terms of performance. Already on the day of its release, Nintendo's console was outdated, due to Nvidia's 2015 chip (console release - 2017). I bought the Xbox shortly after its release, hoping to play the latest Microsoft games on the sofa. Of course, I could connect my computer to the TV and enjoy the same, but it's not as convenient as with the console. Unfortunately, Microsoft pounced on releasing games and all they did was focus on the game pass. Of the most memorable games I played were the Doom series and Hi-Fi Rush (which, by the way, I highly recommend). The console was lying around and getting dusty, and I was using a PC at the time.
My brother and I were in a sales frenzy and were selling things on OLX, and a thought popped up in the back of my head - what if I traded in my Switch with someone? After all, I loved Zelda Breath Of The Wild and the release of the new part was already heading for the shelves. I started looking and found an exchange offer. The guy had a Switch v2 version with games, but the announcement was without pictures. He was nearby me so I decided to drive up with the console and see. In the end I exchanged with him. The Switch was in good condition, there was an account with games on it and the gentleman included a durable case for travel.
So how is the gaming going? Is it good?
One of the first titles I played was the new release of Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled. I played brilliantly, although the loading screen here is quite long. I passed the entire storyline at more than 100% and played all the maps in hard mode. I love the Switch's portable mode. The console is neither too big nor too small, which is what I feared when choosing the version (Lite or basic). It doesn't overheat, the fan runs quietly, the battery life is long enough, well honey miracle. As for the graphic aspects, I don't pay too much attention to it. The screen itself is in 720p resolution, which is also no problem for me.
The only thing that gave me trouble was the numbness of my fingers during a longer session in bed, but this is normal for portable consoles. Well, that's right - portable, and the Switch is a HYBRID console.
The switch has a docking station that serves as a usb hub and HDMI output. On a TV, the maximum resolution is 1080p. Original Nintendo titles look good on the TV, third-party ports can perform less well.
In docking mode, we detach the Joy Cons and connect them to a plastic holder that Nintendo attaches. It may not be ultra ergonomic, but it does the job. However, it's best to get a Pro Controller, where I used to do it myself. Sometimes I play with my brother on one TV, then I give him one joy con and we play.
The biggest downsides of the Nintendo Switch?
First - drifting analogs. Switch through the specific Joy Con housing suffers from the analogs moving on their own. W in the future I plan to buy magnetic analogs, which will be much more sturdy than the factory ones.
Second - lack of VOD / browser services. The console is rather unsuitable for multimedia equipment. The only thing we can do is to watch videos on Youtube. A browser can only be reached by typing a certain DNS address, but this is not convenient.
Third - the prices of games. For new games from the big N we will come to pay as much as AAA games of other platforms. The advantage, however, is that the exes hold the price very well, also you can pass and sell on if you do not collect games. Unlike the Xbox Series S, this is much more comfortable. You can also buy games second-hand, which will save you some money.
And fourth - small memory. The Basic and Lite versions of the console have 32gb of built-in memory, while the OLED version has 64gb. Thankfully, we can insert an SD card, which in my opinion is mandatory. Even when the game cartridge is plugged in, the console downloads additional content to memory via the Internet.
Conclusion
The console as a complement to the PC / PS5 seems to make a lot more sense than the PC / XBOX combination through its exclusive titles. In this post I wanted to describe my impressions quite briefly, because if I were to write out all my thoughts on this hardware the post would be well over 1500 words. I will divide it into several posts, because I would like to describe the many games I have come to play on this, inferior in terms of performance to phones, console. I would also like to know the opinion of other people, what they think about such a switch. See you in the next post :)

Xbox Series S to świetna konsola. W okolicach 1200 złotych można poczuć next genowe doświadczenia, a przy tym ozdobić salon jego piękną obudową. W przeciwieństwie do Series X prezentuje się nieziemsko. Mała, zgrabna konstrukcja bardziej przypomina dekoder do Game Passa, niż next gen konsolę. Do zestawu również dołączany jest biały pad, który w mojej opinii wygląda o wiele ładniej niż czarna wersja. Może to ze względu na brak widoczności kurzu. Niedawno jednak postanowiłem to zmienić i wymieniłem konsolę na starą konsolkę od Nintendo. Ale właśnie - dlaczego?
Dlaczego?
Cóż, tylko wariat mógłby to zrobić. Xbox Series S bije na głowę wydajnościowo Switcha. Już w dniu premiery konsolka Nintendo była przestarzała, ze względu na układ Nvidii z 2015 roku (premiera konsolki - 2017). Xboxa kupiłem niedługo po jego premierze z nadzieją, że będę grał w najnowsze gry Microsoftu na kanapie. Oczywiście mogłem podłączyć komputer do TV i cieszyć się tym samym, ale to nie jest takie wygodne tak jak w przypadku konsoli. Niestety, Microsoft olał wydawanie gier i jedyne co robił to skupiał się na game passie. Z najbardziej pamiętnych gier które grałem to seria Doom i Hi-Fi Rush (które przy okazji giga polecam). Konsola leżała i kurzyła się, a ja wtedy korzystałem z PC.
Z bratem mieliśmy szał sprzedażowy i sprzedawaliśmy rzeczy na portalu OLX i pojawiła mi się z tyłu głowy myśl - a co jakbym wymienił się z kimś na Switcha? W końcu kochałem Zelde Breath Of The Wild i premiera nowej części już zmierzała na półki. Zacząłem szukać i znalazłem ofertę wymiany. Typek miał Switcha w wersji v2 z grami, ale ogłoszenie bez zdjęć. Był niedaleko mnie to postanowiłem podjechać z konsolą i zobaczyć. Ostatecznie wymieniłem się z nim. Switch był w dobrym stanie, na nim było konto z grami i pan dołączył do niego wytrzymałe etui do podróży.
A więc jak się gra? Dobrze?
Jednym z pierwszych tytułów które ogrywałem to nowa odsłona Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled. Grało mi się znakomicie, chociaż ekran ładowania tutaj jest dosyć długi. Przeszedłem całą fabułę na ponad 100% i ogrywam wszystkie mapy w trybie hard. Uwielbiam tryb przenośny Switcha. Konsola nie jest ani za duża, ani za mała, a tego się obawiałem przy wyborze wersji (Lite lub basic). Nie przegrzewa się, wentylator działa cicho, praca na baterii wystarczająco długa, no cud miód. Jeżeli chodzi o aspekty graficzne to nie zwracam na to za bardzo uwagi. Sam ekran jest w rozdzielczości 720p, co również dla mnie nie sprawia problemu.
Jedyne co mi sprawiało trudność to drętwienie palców podczas dłuższej sesji w łóżku, ale to normalne dla konsol przenośnych. No właśnie - przenośnych, a switch to konsola HYBRYDOWA.
Switch posiada stację dokującą, która służy za hub usb i wyjście HDMI. Na telewizorze maksymalna rozdzielczość to 1080p. Oryginalne tytuły Nintendo wyglądają dobrze na telewizorze, gorzej mogą wypaść porty firm zewnętrznych.
W trybie dokującym odpinamy Joy Cony i podłączamy je do plastikowego uchwytu, które Nintendo załącza. Może nie jest ultra ergonomiczny, ale spełnia swoją funkcję. Najlepiej jednak jest zaopatrzyć się w Pro Controller, gdzie kiedyś to sam zrobię. Czasami gram z bratem na jednym telewizorze, wtedy daję mu jednego joy cona i bawimy się.
Największe minusy Nintendo Switch?
Po pierwsze - driftujące analogi. Switch przez specyficzną obudowę Joy Conów cierpi na samoistne ruszanie się analogów. W przyszłości zamierzam kupić magnetyczne analogi, które będą o wiele bardziej wytrwałe niż fabryczne.
Po drugie - brak serwisów VOD / przeglądarki. Konsola raczej nie nadaje się do sprzętu multimedialnego. Jedyne co możemy zrobić to pooglądać filmy na Youtube. Do przeglądarki można jedynie dojść po wpisaniu pewnego adresu DNS, ale to ni jak jest wygodne.
Po trzecie - ceny gier. Za nowe gry od wielkiego N przyjdzie nam zapłacić tyle co gry AAA innych platform. Zaletą jest jednak to, że exy bardzo dobrze trzymają cenę, także można przejść i sprzedać dalej jeżeli nie kolekcjonujemy gier. W przeciwieństwie do Xbox Series S jest to dużo wygodniejsze. Można również kupować gry od drugiej ręki, co pozwoli zaoszczędzić trochę pieniędzy.
Po czwarte - mała pamięć. Konsolka w wersji Basic i Lite posiada 32gb pamięci wbudowanej, a w wersji OLED 64gb. Na szczęście możemy włożyć kartę SD, co w mojej opinii jest obowiązkowe. Nawet po wpięciu cartridge'a z grą konsola pobiera dodatkowe treści do pamięci przez internet.
Podsumowanie
Konsola jako uzupełnienie do PC / PS5 wydaje się mieć o wiele więcej sensu niż połączenie PC / XBOX przez swoje tytuły ekskluzywne. W tym poście chciałem dosyć krótko opisać swoje doświadczenia, ponieważ gdybym miał wymieniać każdą myśl o tym sprzęcie to post miałby grubo ponad 1500 słów. Rozbiję to na wiele postów, ponieważ chciałbym opisać wiele gier które przyszło mi zagrać na tej, gorszej wydajnościowo od telefonów, konsolce. Chciałbym poznać zdanie również innych osób co myślą o takiej przesiadce. Do zobaczenia w kolejnym poście. :)

Nope, I don't. But trading a current gen console for a previous gen one isn't exactly my idea of a good trade. But different strokes for different folks.

I´d love to own a Xbox Series S someday, I think sometimes of even trade it through a Nintendo Switch I own but I´m not sure that´s a good idea, the Swich might be old but it currently has a great library of videogames, so I think you did a good trade :) enjoy it. Joycons can feel a little bit uncomfortable after a long time as you say, I recommend you to buy some joycon pro controllers which are a little bit more comfortable, not that much but it´s something.

Man I´d love to play Alan Wake 2 which will be soon released this year, Hellblade Senua´s Sacrifice II as well, I´d really love to play them, Silent Hill 2 remake too. Thank you :) I think you have a nice pfp as well, haven´t watched Chainsaw Man but it looks like a great show.
